Hey guys, I know that there are a million lift threads however I think this one may be slightly unique.

In the near future I am looking to lift my truck and I want to do the work myself. What I'm looking for are suggestions, tool lists, and what to look out for during the process. From top to bottom any opinions or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I want to be as prepared as possible to do this.

My overall goal is to lift and level the truck and prepare for a C4 bumper.

Background, I have little mechanical experience and have done little if any work on vehicles. I do however have a passion for them and I'm looking to get the ball rolling. I've read and read and read about these trucks so I have a pretty firm understanding, however the devil is in the details.

    What I'm looking to do:
    • Install front shocks and springs for ~2.5 lift
    • Replace leaf pack with medium duty dakar.
    What I have:
    • Assess to a vehicle lift
    • General tools.
Please help me assemble a list so that I don't get myself in too deep haha

I'm not 100% yet, but I will probably go with a kit from OME.

It's not a hard install at all. Pretty much just replace the part on the truck with the part from the box. I got an Old Man Emu kit from Maria at @HeadStrong Off-Road (You can call or message her and she's really helpful) and installed it in a few hours with basic tools. I didn't have a lift so used a floor jack and did one wheel at a time. I then took it to a shop to check and adjust the alignment. With a 2.5 lift you probably won't need to mess with aftermarket UCA. I didn't.

Especially if you select the strut and coil assembly option. Thank you so much for your recommendation.

I would think so, but hit it with an impact driver and you should be okay.

That is hard to say. I have had a lot of 3rd gen customers with stock rake all across the board. Best to measure your truck to see what your stock rake is. What I can say is that the 888's will provide around 2.5-2.75" of lift (depending on shock used) on a 2016+ 4dr 4wd v6 auto that is stock weight so with the winch and bumper you will see sagging. How much sagging is hard t o say since it all comes down to the weight being added and mfg tolerances of the springs themselves.
