    Another story about Emily...

I believe that Tom Petty died less than a day after that mass shooting in Vegas. I'd been at work all day and not heard about the Vegas shooting, but news broke about Petty dying on my favorite radio station, and since he's one of my favorite singers, I posted something about that on Facebook.

Not long after, Emily posted the first comment on my In memory of Tom Petty post, totally tearing me a new one for being "insensitive" to the victims of the shooting. Yes, news about the shooting came on my favorite station not long after the news about Petty, but it was also after I made that post. I was not being "insensitive" in the slightest.

Emily has this annoying habit of putting the cart before the horse in these situations, and that's one of the many reasons I cut ties with her.

Typical narcissistic behavior. She wants you to think on the same lines as her.

Cartman's mom must be one hell of a prostitute to be able to afford to spoil Cartman the way she does...

She was apparently a porno actress at one point as well, and in one episode I saw her working as a dominatrix (with Mr. Mackey as a client)!

In The Passion of the Jew, she buys a new minivan, which the boys are seen playing in and pretending it's a spaceship in the beginning of the episode...

The Passion of the Jew is the third episode of season 8 and the 114th episode overall. It was made in, and thus takes place in, 2004. The van looks just like a 1995-1998 Mazda MPV, and though no make/model is given. Thus, it can be assumed that this is not a brand new vehicle, but a mint condition used 1998 MPV that is "new" to Liane Cartman.

Cartman is my favorite for sure. Don't watch anymore, but did for a while. If it was on Netflix, I would still watch it.

I don't know much about the factory systems in 1995-2000 Tacos, even the most expensive CD/cassette head units with 4-6 speakers...

However, there have been a few 2001-2004 First Gens in my life, two of which I have driven...

The first one I actually rode in was my uncle's '02 S-Runner (then brand new), and it had the AM/FM ETR with CD and cassette. I'm assuming it had the tweeters and woofer in the doors like 2nd gens, plus 6X9s in the back...?

Anyway, my uncle played a CD with a hip hop version of Killing Me Softly With His Song, and I thought that system was pretty damn good. I never actually drove my uncle's S-Runner because I didn't know how to drive stick at the time, and he sold it before I got my license.

The first 1st Gen I actually drove (one time on a public road with no license or even a learner's permit :D :anonymous:) was a white '03 RC 5-lug 2.4L/auto, and it belonged to my late Grandpa's friend...

This truck just had the basic AM/FM cassette, with the blank spot above the radio that would allow a dealer-installed CD player to be put in later. I don't remember much about the stereo in that truck, as I didn't really listen to the radio because my Grandpa's friend Jim was giving me a driving lesson and didn't want me being distracted...

The second 1st Gen I drove was a red '02 AC SR5 Prerunner 2.7L/auto owned by the same uncle who had the S-Runner. He bought the truck as a daily driver, but ended up selling it because he liked his 1991 Toyota Pickup better.

This was in 2012, by which time I had a driver's license. My dad briefly considered selling my '10 RC and buying me this one, but we both decided against it since this truck was 8 years older than mine and lacked some of the safety features my truck had. It had the AM/FM cassette/CD and when test driving the truck I remember thinking that the speakers in this truck were better than the speakers in my '10. Less than a year later, I replaced the factory system in my '10 RC with a Pioneer system that literally put the factory Bose system in a friend's $75K Audi Q7 to shame...

Anyway, '04 was the last year before the redesign. I didn't pay much attention to the factory radios in the 2nd Gens when they first came out, but as a longtime Tacoma owner, I now believe the 2nd Gen factory sound systems (with the exception of the JBL systems in all top-line '05-'15 2nd Gens, and the Entune systems in '12-newer models) are a downgrade compared to the 6-speaker CD/cassette systems in the latest 1st Gens.

Why? For starters, '05-'08 models didn't have AUX inputs! The 1st gens didn't either, but least all 1st gens came with a bare minimum of a cassette player, so you could at least play an iPod/MP3 player or portable CD player through a car kit adapter.

Second of all, while it isn't that hard to swap out the dash bezel in a 2nd gen, installing an aftermarket radio in a 1st gen is much easier than in a 2nd gen. A 1st gen has a simple double-DIN opening, with a cubby insert if you opt for a single-DIN head unit.

The factory speakers in the '01-'04 Tacos were definitely better than the factory speakers in my '10, and I'm pretty sure this is the same for all non-JBL 2nd Gens...

Also, even if you replaced the speakers in your non-JBL/non-Entune 2nd Gen, the factory head unit still wasn't much to write home about...

Prior to 2009, I'm pretty sure all 2nd Gen Tacos lacked Bluetooth (even the JBL-equipped models), and I think it took until 2012 for all Tacomas (even the base models to get it; I test drove a then-new '13 RC automatic 4x4 and it had Bluetooth, but the speakers were still shit).

    So, what do you think?
