What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I think if I ever decided to get a plate bumper I’d see if one of the three Elite Off-road bumper owners I know of on here would be nice enough to give me measurements on theirs then take that to a local fab shop in town.

The Relentless Summit bumper would be my second choice to that hair-brained scheme.

Kinda have a rocky history. Have they cleaned up their act? What was your lead time? Back when i was shopping for bumpers people were waiting 12-16 months for bumpers...

I've always liked that 4xInnovations bumper. And it's a great price too compared to others offered. If I was getting a plate bumper, that is the route that I would go.

That winch is way overkill for a light little taco but I don't see why not unless it is physically too tall, like most plate bumpers you'll have to probably relocate the solenoid box, and clock the clutch handle to fit.

 

Their page says 9,500lb or less though, so maybe compare the size of a smittybuilt 9,500lb winch to the 12K one you were looking at

 

Yeah, those are neoprene seat covers from CalTrends. They are cheaper than the Wet Okoles. They seem to have held up fine. They were purchased by the previous owner. However, the color in the center was a tan/beige, but now it is more of an off-green due to sun damage, dirt, etc. These are the first seat covers I've had so I don't know how to compare them to others. They fit on the seats very well though. I like 'em (minus the faded, off-green color).

 

i know the 12k is overkill, but atm its cheaper then the 10k version of it

 

Just compare the measurements of the two then, it looks like it would be plenty big enough but the easiest way to find out is look at the dimensions of popular 9500 or less winches and compare to the smitty 12K. Also is it cheaper than a smaller winch with a synthetic cable? Cause the real value lies in the synth cable not pulling power.

What's the price of the winch currently?

 

I purchased back in 2016 through their group by. The stated lead time was 4-6 months. I placed my order on May 21st and received my bumper on September 1st.

They initially sent incorrect mounting hardware/install instructions and were great to deal with on correcting the issue. It took a day or two from the time I informed them of the issue to the time I received the correct items.

I did hear about the extra long lead times but this was after I placed the order. Glad they were able to get my bumper out to me in the time that they did.
