NH we don't have sales tax but I always thought we got nailed on vehicle registrations. Looks like I ain't doing too bad!

 

RI is the same way. Paid 2k sales tax, then over 1k on excise tax for quite a few years. Even 10 years old, my tax bill is about $700

 

$46 per thousand!?

MA is $25 per thousand, and at this point my truck is worth $3000 because it's 10% of original MSRP once it's so old.

RIP Warren Miller. Wore out my VHS copy of Steeper and Deeper back in the day. Used to like watching Vertical Reality for the wrecks, too.

I think I gave it to tony a couple years ago. Or at least it feels like a few years ago. Not sure where it ended up. I sold my Tacoma so I never asked for it back.

I forgot about that spot, I want to get the bike down there sometime this year. Maybe I'll go on a trail run with you guys at some point.

 

EPA better figure out how to allow small diesel engines in the US like the UK.

 

If you're going there give me a yell. I'm 20 minutes away! I could use a night away from the baby.

Edit... totally forgot about the Makers Mark I had aging in the barrel with some bitters added to it. Drained it out into a bottle and it's got a super strong oak barrel flavor with a twist of cinnamon bitters - AKA Perfect for an old fashioned. Mixed some simple syrup with it, an orange zest and a cherry. AWESOME

 

They are, by 2019, Ford, Chevy and Ram will all have 1/2 ton diesel options, it seems to be catching on.

I don’t think it was the EPA standing in the way so much as the stigma around diesels is pretty much gone and vehicles have gotten so stupid expensive, it’s easier for manufacturers to bury the cost of the diesel in the price.

I'm beat to shit right now.

Had my co-ed soccer league final today at 9. We were up 1-0, then down 2-1, then down 4-2, but came back to win 6-4.

Nice intense game, against a bunch of young portuguese kids, one of which all he does is talk shit and constantly take dives looking for a fucking foul. Felt great to beat his ass.

Got a nice pullover hoodie as a "trophy", and won a wrinky dinky little trophy for being the best goalkeeper in the league (one with the least amount of goals against).

Then got home and tried to put my son to bed, since he went to the game with me and my father in law, who watched him. Yeah... that's not going very well right now. Threw a fucking tantrum over a stupid little toy that I let him get there, out of one of those candy machine type things, and wanted to put it on a truck he has, that he LEFT AT MY INLAWS house today. OH BOY.

 

Put em to bed and let him cry till he fall asleep.

 

Wish it was that easy. He already woke up the youngest because he was crying. Finally convinced him to put pj's on, lay down and watch mickey and the roadster racers (it's his current favorite). He's finally asleep now. Good thing he doesn't go to daycare on Thursdays and Fridays. He goes to the in-laws, so they can put up with him tomorrow. The tough part is going to be waking him up tomorrow at 6:30 so we can get him dressed and all of us be out the door by 7-7:15 the latest.
