I saw that this morning, interesting since they will be a first of their kind since you can do both stocks and crypto. Curious to see if you can send coins to and from the exchange. I do like that they won't be charging fees to trade

My little bro made me sign up a few months ago so he could get a free referral stock. Long story short, this is why I have an account and like 5 Sprint stock.

Robinhood has a really good UX, but they only trade US stock and they will only offer this service in like 5 states at first. Its big news for crypto, but they're targeting normies, not serious traders. They will "retain" the assets for you. I doubt you'll be able to pull the currency out.

How do they know what state you're in? Do they have a similar KYC process as coinbase?

They prompt you to enter various identity check information upon sign up. (Social, Address, etc)

Meh not really competing. Just another option. Unless ots changed from when I saw them awhile ago you can't day trade either. Limited to like three day trades in a five day window (or was it 5 in three days?). Cash isn't limited though from what I remember. I think it was different if you had more money invested with them though.

I’m not 100% sure on all the details. I’m just excited for another cash to coin exchange. Robinhood also says that they’ll be adding about 15/16 other coins after btc and eth. If anything, it’s exposure to normal people.

As long as Coinbase accepts instant purchase of crpyto with a credit card, it will remain as king.

That's the only reason Coinbase is ahead of the game: It's convenience and speed in purchasing ETH, LTC, BTC to transfer to other exchanges for altcoins.

Now of Robinhood accepted credit cards for crypto, then it would be "competition".

People don't want to wait days for ACH transfers. They want to purchase now.

Not sure how it'll work for crypto but for stock Robinhood would wait for funds to clear at first until your account was upgraded to instant. Not sure if every new user is instant at this point as this was a long time ago. It was nice having that instant buying power as soon as you wanted to trade money though... super annoying before that though
Another thing Robinhood does with stock that I would hope they would not do with crypto is they will keep track of your day trading. If you make 3 day trades in a week then they lock your trades for 90 days. Get what you pay for I guess

Coinbase also has huge fees. Robinhood should be without fees. Again I’m not really expecting for robinhood to become the top of the food chain but it does expose normal and older folks to criptoe

    Yes, but still:

You're paying for the convenience of having the money now VS waiting for transfers and approvals.

    People will pay for convenience.

I know I did, and I'll keep going back to Coinbase as long as they keep accepting my credit card.

If Robinhood took credit cards, then that's a different story.

“Here’s how Robinhood Crypto works. You can instantly transfer up to $1000 from your connected bank account (more if you have a Gold membership), with additional funds coming over slower ACH transfer. For smaller traders, that could eliminate the annoying delays on other platforms that can make you miss a low price you want to buy up.”

Got my rig to stop overheating. Underclocked voltage on both gpus. Overclocked memory to compensate for under voltage. Then cut the cardboard to allow more air to the 1060. Pulled my top case fan and zip tied it directly in front of the amd card. Still pulling the same hash rate. Amd at 72*, Nvidia 62*

to keep an eye on my mine, I run teamviewer on the mine and on my laptop and phone. It's a software that acts as a remote control, so from my phone I can see and make changes to the mine as if I was sitting in front of the mine. I'm using the free version, which unfortunately changes the password everytime the system reboots so if there was a power failure I'd be locked out until I got home and checked the new password. But other than that I think it's awesome as my mine is tucked away in the cold basement.
