This is cool, maybe they're feeling the heat from the recent chevy 2019, Ram 2019 unveiling and Ranger coming that they're going to step up. Did they do anything like this last year at the same auto show?

I dont think much will change appearance wise for the Tacoma, could see it adding front locker and engine enhancements to make it more of their high end model than just an Off road with better suspension.

engine enhancements are highly unlikely and by highly unlikely, I mean, there will not be engine enhancements. Toyota has never "felt the heat" so to speak. Again, their foothold is on reliability and resale. They have NEVER gotten tied up in shiny gimmicky trinkets, like ever. Not part of their business model. Front locker, ehhhh maybe, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Expect little cosmetic things, maybe a sunroof or jbl option as I mentioned previously, but I can say with almost 100% certainty, there will be nothing of any real significance.

^^^ This guy knows what's up.. But fer real, none of you should get your hopes up. Toyota has never and never really will compete with GM or Ford. If that were the case, the GM twins would have made a dent in Tacoma sales, spoiler alert, they didn't.. The ZR2, yup, still didn't hurt Toyota's sales and every dealer from coast to cost has no problem selling their Pro's almost as soon as they land.

And with alllllllll those fancy widgets and gadgets the twins have, their resale and reliability still suck a bag of monkey nuts. :D

Toyota isn't feeling any heat, on average they are selling 8,000 more units per month than the Colorado. There won't be any major enhancements.

Don't you know, GM, Ford, Dodge.... They all did a thing, so that means if Toyota wants to stay competitive, they are gonna have to put a twin turbo, supercharged diesel that gets 40mpg but is also a hybrid, heated/cooled/power leather seats, front and rear lockers, 33 inch tires, suspension etc....... alll for under 35k. Because otherwise, those "other" guys are gonna steal their market share.

Toyota have reliability, they dont care about putting turbo or supercharged on their tacoma.

They will not put 33 tires on their factory tacoma because gas mileage is what the average buyers looks for these days.

They will not put power seat on the tacoma beacuse the tacoma cabin haven't change since 2005.

Diesel? you will never see that coming over here on a toyota. They will bring hybrid/electric before diesel.

    Keep dreaming guys!

    ????????

I see nothing that indicates anything special about the next TRD Pro vehicles.

The only time I will give a shit is when they #1 redesign the Tacoma again and #2 make a TRD Pro in a long bed oh and #3 make the MSRP of the Tacoma Pro at $35k.

New Pro is ugly. And I wouldn’t be caught dead driving a Pro with those goofy badges lol

    4Runner is cool though :)

They already have an Access Cab. If you are specifically referring to an off-road manual, they have those too but only in Canada.

ding ding ding!!! Exactly! Their history is a good indication of their future. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. They built a solid, reliable platform with a substantial following/user base. Not only does the Tacoma appeal to the enthusiasts and adventure minded folk, but it appeals to the masses as well. It's reliable, capable and has exceptionally high resale. That's Toyota's hand, always has been.

The other manufacturers need all that other shit to "try" and compete with Toyota and even with all the engine, interior, off-road options, they still can't come anywhere close to being legit competition.

There is no access cab in the pro model, which is what this thread is about, according to the title anyway. I haven't read all the comments though.

But the Toyota post doesn't say anything about the PRO, just this thread title and the Autoblog post. People are assuming PRO for some reason

The photo shown has 3 pros in it. That is unless Toyota starts putting Pro trim on non pro trucks, thus negating the pro and it's model specific cosmetic things..
