The old TSB for the second gen has now been updated to include 2016 and 2017 Tacomas.

Does anyone have any more info?

I searched and didn't find this on here, yet

I sure hope this is for real. Since my truck was new, I’ve had the annoying wind noise on the drivers side at ear level. Only happens in a crosswind. I’ve taken my truck in for a fix to the wind noise several times. Toyota service technicians all say they can’t replicate. Never had the kazoo noise, but they did plug the LCAs on both sides. With no fix.

I had the service department document my complaint every time I was there. They told me that I was the only one with the wind noise problem. I thought that if enough people complained, maybe something might be done.

I have service scheduled next month. Will see how it goes.

Good luck...If they insist on "replicating' it....You're F'd....
Like how many times can you go to the F'n dealer while there is a 80 MPH wind on the Hwy...??
Get serious you F'n Toyota Techs..... If the Owner says it's an issue ... then fix it...OK?

Was it ever documented before you hit 36k miles? If so, then it shouldnt be a problem. If not, then it will depend on how good your service dept. is.

That's what they did to my truck under warranty. they replaced all the weather strips seals around the drivers door. I am not sure if they replaced it in the passenger door.

I didnt have to replicate it for them - I just printed out the TSB and showed it to them.

They took ordered the strips and took care of it

I have service coming up soon. Going to ask them about this as well. It will be interesting to see what they think when they see my silicone bead along the weather strip I did to fix this myself...

So, after 10 months of ownership, I can't say that I have noticed this cross-wind noise in either door. I might have heard it and just subconsciously assumed it was just the way the truck is supposed to sound in a cross-wind. Or I heard nothing.

Is it in my interest to falsely claim I heard it from both doors and ask the dealer to correct it, or should I wait until I actually hear it? Is there a 'statute of limitations' for Toyota to address these TSB's? Can Toyota do more harm than good in an attempted fix, whether there's a problem or not?

My 15K service is due in a month or 2 and I would like to incorporate any TSB remediation in that visit if possible. Maybe I'll wait for a good southerly and take a quick drive across the I90 Mercer Island floating bridge to see if I hear it.

They put new weather stripping on mine still have vthe problem. I believe they also adjusted the door to make it close tighter. Still have the problem. Mine vibrates and and makes a rubbing sound every single damn bump I'm going to try and put some silicone on the strip to get rid of it.

    Same, same...
Replaced mine numerous times with no fix.
I bought some AVS in channel visors that i feel will tighten things up enough to kill the noise. :fingerscrossed:

Had this issue on my 2nd gen, well documented over there. Came up with a dripper line fix and havnt had the issue since.

FYI toyota copied my fix and integrated it into their new door seals.

Spend tons of time at the dealer or spend 5 min and 2 bucks on some 1/4in dripper pipe and call it good.
