    I did reserve a water & electric spot, but I've been to this location many times before; they let you in, you pick your spot, then come tell them which one it is. Usually it's either ground-tent camping, or full-on fifth-wheel glamping, so this'll be new for me. TBH, they treat their VIP members rather nice, so I'm not too worried. ;)

    Yeah, this is actually my dad's membership (same name benefits). He hasn't used it in years, but has his new F250 SD and is about to add his hitch to it, so he should be getting out again soon.

    I hope you realize their are thousands of places to go, that are remote and require 4WD, that are accessible without “trail armor”.
    You don’t need King remote resi shocks and full armor to go off-road.

    Yeah, I'm aware. I'm already waiting on skids (IFC & LCA) as well as sliders. I would absolutely hate acquiring some trail damage now, as opposed to waiting.
    Also, this is the first trip out in quite a while (years), and the absolute first trip with the new setup, so keeping it less rural is intentional.

    Yeah you don't need much to really go "off-grid" and have some fun. There are a million + 1 trails that you can take your non-armored truck and still be fine. Hell I bought a stock, granny-style Lexus GX470 a month ago and I have already taken it on multiple "off-grid" trips and haven't had any issues. Enjoy what you have!

    I had that happen to me in Alabama a few years ago. The solution was to set up a tent behind the truck and still sleep in the truck. I don't have a roof top tent but was sleeping in the back of my truck.

    I recently went down a tire size because the reality is that I drive my truck about 18,000 miles a year. It's all weekend driving. I have a daily driver during the week. I'd say 5,000 of those are on dirt. About 50 miles of those are better with a larger tire (not really required, just better). The rest is highway.

    With that said I'm open to going back to the larger tire size if these don't work out.

    The Shower Pouch makes a great product. They're basically moist towelettes that remove sweat, dirt and odor. An on-board shower system sounds awesome, but right now it's not on my list of things to do.

    I'd consider the DIY solar shower route. Black PVC pumped with 15PSI makes for decent pressure too.
