I am envisioning someone jumping in your truck, holding a gun at you and ordering you to drive to Moab to do some wheeling?

Sorry I really thought we were done here but ?

OP--you might want to hold off swapping until the 2017's come out, to allow for more model debugging and also to see what the TRD Pro's are like. You might like the TRD Pro better than the OffRoad.

Here's to cutting the OP some slack. After all, he works on people's butts for a living, and I am betting a lot of those aren't all that great to look at. :poking:

UPDATE: Went to a small dealer about an hour from me today that had a BLUE TRD-OR with PREM/TECH non jbl, tow, tube step and tonneau cover on the lot!!!!. Pretty much exactly what I want with the exception of JBL but upgrading a stereo in the future alot easier than adding a locking diff, mts, and crawl to a limited.

MSRP on my limited was 40K currently has (800 miles), MSRP on this TRD_OR is 39k. They said they will trade it for $3000, I may be able to bargain down to $2500. Then I go to find out somebody has a deposit on it already and the dealer is giving them 30 days to come up with the bank required 15k for the loan. ARGHHHHH They did offer to order one for me for the same price but I just don't want to wait. What do you think of the deal?

I think they will make money off the deal on both trucks.

I'm like you, I have all the money I could ever want. I rotate out 4 different autos every two years and know how to work a deal. Rule number one is to buy something with good resale value and the Tacoma has the best in the industry. The deal you proposed was about as good as one could expect given the demand for the truck in question. If you have to order whatever you want no worries; You'll get the exact truck you want if you remain a little patient.

Would the flip-flops have MTS and Crawl Control? If not, would you keep them or trade them in?

You do realize a Tundra costs about the same as a Tacoma?

I’m in the similar income bracket as the OP, and proudly drive a Taco. I really couldn’t fathom spending more on a vehicle. Depreciating asset. I have my own retirement to think about. Trying to put away money for that. You know you should have about $3mil put away by the time you retire to have an adequate lifestyle? You youngsters, set up an investment account now and put money in it. Ever heard of compounding interest? Putting money away for the kids’ college, which keeps going up and up (I am scared for the next generation). I still cringe at the future value of how much I’m spending on this truck.
