So noticed something funny about my 06...

...and thought I would ask here as I was just recently reading something about head gaskets.



This is bad right? Smells like exhaust. Do I have a head gasket issue? No rough starts and no overheating though.

Kinda smells like money too.

 

You do a lot of short trips

 

Recently yes. It's a daily driver and mostly been just going to and from work.

 

I see a lot of posts in regards to this and most of the answers I have seen say short trips

 

You will be fine. Its condensation from winter temps and short trips.

 

Short trips. Seen alot of them on vehicles with extended oil fill necks. Moisture builds up t here.

Lots of folks wouldn't ever know where the cap was, or what it should look like inside.

Yep. Most folks don't even know where the 710 cap is.

 

Nor be old enough to read 710 on their 4 function handheld

 

Take it for a long drive once a week - to be sure it heats up enough to get the moisture out.
