I think my tires (255/85/16) were $1600 for 5 mounted and installed. That was for the st/max when they first came out. Give some other numbers to work with.

I got them locally from OK Tire in North Bay for $273 a tire I went with full set of 5, not mounted. I am going to try and save some cash and mount and balance them myself. Once they approve me for membership at the 22nd Wing Auto Hobby Shop. Full tire balance / mounting machines available for use all the time.

273 taxes in? That’s also sweet having access to that kind of shop. Mounting and balancing isn’t hard. We use to do it in high school. Take your time and don’t tear the tire up!

For what it's worth and for how many times people stick their heads in your wheel wells just to admire your control arms:

    Step 1)

    https://www.krylonindustrial.com/product/rust-tough-acrylic-alkyd-enamel/

    KRYI-K00779-Rust-Tough-15oz-Semi-Gloss-Black-main-429x1024.jpg
Th semi-gloss black is an OEM match $10/can, and it takes 2 cans to paint your undercarriage the first time. 1/2 can for annual spring touch ups. It dries in 10 minutes.

    Step 2)

    https://shop.krown.com/products/krown-aerosols-case-of-6-or-12

    krown rustprotectioncan_1024x1024.jpg

... another $10 can. 4 cans (the first time) will do inside the doors, bedsides, frame, hood, tailgate, and suspension. Three cans then redoes your whole truck in the fall. I lightly respray the suspension components maybe twice in the winter. No squeaks ever!

Just touch up the frame paint/diff, UCA's & LCA's in the spring/early summer. My undercarriage looked like new, even after 4 years of salt, sand, and grime.

$273 each + tax. So it is a total of $1542 with tax.

Yea I did some in high school as well, so I understand each part of the process. At the tire shop I was using they have the exact same machine I will have access to, and there is a window so you can watch the guys do the work while you wait. So I have seen it used a few times. I am going to watch youtube video's to ensure I have it down pat before I try :bananadead:

My 35’s were a lot more than that....did you get five tires?
What tire too? I got the ko2’s since they were the “cheapest” name brand.

This means nothing, every tire and different sizes of those tires are priced different. I called a dozen shops, some even as far as Huntsville to ensure I got a good price.

I got a good of a price as I could find.

Same as the lowest price I could find online.

Hey Marc.... Maybe that's why that scumbag stole your truck.... Yours was very well maintained....!! He could see that..!

I'm thinking I need some stickers that look like rust and put them on my rocker panels and fenders... Then maybe a would-be thief will drive past my well maintained truck...hehe

Hey @rrentrop , do you think there would be a market for "rust stickers"...?? hehe

I like that idea and I know that "rust" wrap exists. Unfortunately I am not setup to ship anything that large.
