Have you been able to get a tech or advisor to ride along with you? That helps too.

Not yet but I have been to two dealerships and three visits between them. I've wasted enough time and gas all to just be told "all normal".

It didn't have to be this way but it's gonna get ugly. Just waiting for the callback from Toyota Corp before I decide on my next move.

Well, that really stinks. When symptoms show, they should check it out. I hope things work out with corporate involvement.

For those that are having the issue; would you mind running your vin in Toyota website and see what plant manufactured yours?

I have been told the plant from Mexico are the ones with majority of the issues in the 3rd gen. I have a 2018 from the Texas plant and don’t notice the issues many are having, but it makes me nervious not being able to really tell if it’s low or not.

Thanks man. It's just a denial of any and all symptoms from the dealer side. Super bummed out these last few weeks as this was my first new vehicle and my first truck. Feels like I got burned hard on this one.

    Mine's Texas too apparently.

All you have to do is look at the first digit, mine and many others were made in Texas, and it doesn’t seem to matter where it came from for low fluid.

I know the feeling as mine was my first new vehicle too.......I upgraded to the 4runner, I had enough. I love these trucks, but I was so disappointed and confidence lost. I really hope your gets fixed up and no more issues for your truck.

I wish I could get out of this thing but I don't think it's possible or easy in a lease. I might press that issue if things don't get better.

Hell this thing makes me want my 2004 Accord trade-in back. Feel like such a sucker.

People have been saying this crap since day 1. There is no difference between plants. My lemoncoma was built in Texas.

Is it just me, or should you not have to go to these lengths to get something fixed or get your god damn tranny fluid checked.

Nice. Wonder if that goes for Canada too.

I also have the Ontario government's bureau for disputes between consumers and manufacturers.

Then there' also the lawyer route. I feel like I'm well armed, thanks man I'll look into this as a trump card.

When did y’all start noticing the problem. I just hit 500 mi with no issues. I have called my dealer and they are willing to run test before messing with fluid, but I don’t want to leave my truck with them for a couple of days until I start noticing problems. They’ll do it for free since I’m still under warranty, however their policy is to run the tests/checks first.

Mine started acting odd about 400-500 miles in. Search 3rd gen transmission fluid thread.....it’s huge. Lots of info related to this issue in it, as well as the procedure to properly check fluid levels. I had the printout of the procedure attached to my papers when I brought it in, so they couldn’t lie to me.

It's supposed to be between 95-113 deg F.
I'd be concerned skipping the connection between TC and TE1 might have an affect on proper fluid flow for the check. Both Techstream and the jumper method require it.

FWIW, it uses sensor A/T Oil Temp No.1; don't know which you were monitoring.

Started noticing the low fluid issue way way back in the 2nd gen trucks ( 2010- 2015 ). Many reported the problem to corporate
Took us a long while to figure out why all these delays from reverse to drive were continuously being posted by members . After 6 months , we had it nailed down to underfilled at the factory. You wouldnt beleive how many torque converters fried because of low fluid
Transmissions do not work fine when they are short a quart of fluid or 1/2 a quart for that matter . Most of your transmissions are new from factory and the tolerances are tighter than a trans with age . This is why some of you have zero issues and others do . Cold weather brings out the symptoms .
Just because your truck worked ok with low fluid does not mean every other truck will function fine
Transmissions need to be filled properly .....PERIOD !
Sure enough the 3rd gen trucks came along in 2016 and with it , the same symptoms of delayed reverse to drive .
Thats why I started this post . Is it true that I will also be adding 2018 to the list :help::help:?

Yep , according to the poll , they are low on fluid coming from both plants .Mexico as well as San Antonio .
With this said , are any of you 2018 owners finding the same problem ?
