Right on, thanks for taking the time to give your feedback. I agree about 6th being able easily compensate for being over geared. Before gearing I’d hardly used it even at 80mph+.
I’ve considered 255/85s also but I’m trying to stay somewhat light weight and options in that size are very limited.

Thanks! There hasn't been much done lately since most of the major projects have been completed but still have a few more tricks up my sleeve. Thanks for the info on the tires BTW. That's not too heavy at all considering the increased size. I really like the generals but the 255s would look better. I kinda wish the X3s would wear faster so I'd have a reason to go bigger sooner but I may just go for it anyway.

Things have been good. I may have a 78 bronco project soon and been putting work into my home so the tacos kinda been back burnered for a bit. As far as mods go just a few small things to finish up. A closed winch shakle ( should actually be here later today) , Sy-Klone pre cleaner and not so much a truck mod but will pick up Silky Katana Boy 650 before camping season :sawzall:

How have you been? We were by your house the other day and it looked like a taco mod day down the road from your place. Full on taco infestation in your hood:thumbsup:

Right on! I'm ramping up work on my house as well. Always too many projects!!

I know the house, he's a cool dude. He's got a Lexus IS460 or whatever in Cement gray with full Icon suspension and a Front Runner Rack as well as a Lexus ISF. He's actually a client of mine as well.

Thinking I want one these for the snorkel since it's going to be a brutally dry and dusty summer in AZ. I am worried it may be a bit too phallic?

Planning on a brutally dry and Dusty summer in the White Mountains I went ahead and added the sy-klone precleaner. It's actually not as big and obnoxious looking as I thought it was going to be.

Also swapped out the rear facing flood light for a 50 watt spotlight.

How do you like your c.b. radio?
It’s probably the cleanest instal I’ve ever seen, but not sure what it’s like power-wise and overall performance?

I'm a big fan of the Stryker SR89. It's a 10 meter ham radio that's easily moded to an 11 meter civilian band. With that said it easily out performs other CBs of similar size and can still transmit on 10 meter. My setup is around 40 watts of transmitt power but the skies pretty the limit with linear ampliphiers. On the down side there are no side bands. The tinkerer part of me really likes the side band efficiency but I can live without it for the increase in power. I also carry a inexpensive 2 meter/70 centimeter/frs/gmrs handheld when traveling and between the two we can pretty much talk to anybody.

I should probably mention modifying CB radios to transmit above 4 watts is illegal but I'd more likely be arrested for the green day album I downloaded on Napster back in 1999 than get in trouble for my setup.

Dude it's the OG 3rd gen tow machine! BigTrans cooler, airbags and 4.88s. It pretty much makes 350 class trucks look like a waste of space! JK :anonymous:

Speaking of Towing and trailer stuff I think the trailer could also fit some bigger tires.
    20180131_135002.jpg
    20180131_132502.jpg

I pulled part the drums and did some measuring and think I can swap some 6 lug drum/hubs so I can run 16" wheels and a narrow 31" load range E all terrain. I never realised before but the crappy tires the trailer came with OEM are actually max load range right under the trailers max loaded weight:der:.

Also have a few more "ruggedizing" projects coming up for the trailer with intent of taking it too a little more remote places like end of the world campground in Sedona and some of our white mountain spots. I'm thinking adding shock absorbers to the suspension, c-channeling the axle, 1 slider to protect the black/grey water dump (breaking that was a shitty day:rofl:) and maybe a 1" shackle lift

Great idea for the camper tire/wheel upgrade. Are you thinking you want to do a 16" Tacoma rim to match your truck? That would look good
