I don't have any other way other than calculating miles per the tripometer divided by gallons consumed. I've been tracking mileage on Fuelly for every tank for the past 74,000+ miles.

But on a side note I've always wanted a UG. But every time I go to their website it's back ordered and then I forget to go back and order one. :)

That real low tank was 4-wheeling in 4-lo all weekend. I'll take screen caps to show you the discrepancy.

And since UG came up... I assume I should go with the UltraGauge EM Plus v1.2 vs the MX model?

I assume the EM plus is the model I want?

    lol

Here's screencaps. Hard to get a real feel for it considering I drive the truck so much less in the spring/summer/fall months of 2017 vs 2016. But the snapshot of 2016 is what I used to consistently get every during those aforementioned seasons.

You can see a difference in range and mpg.

Same lift, same size tires, same tires (for the most part - recent switch but saw no noticeable difference), etc. The only difference between 2017 and 2016 is the front bumper. I have a stock 95-97 front bumper on now versus a stock 98-00 front bumper in 2016. The latter definitely had more coverage on the front tires but I can't imagine that has an impact as noticeable as I've seen. Who knows... maybe that's it?

Thanks dude. I'm in bed and my wallet is downstairs.... not gonna happen tonight.

And this is why I continue to go without one.

    Big part of it actually.

Why you can loose up to 2 mpgs getting an offroad bumper. The air isn't deflected down and around the truck, it just hits the wheel well and fire wall.

Though I doubt it would make as big of a difference as your seeing. Pretty minimal difference id bet?

Totally get it. Just wondering if the coverage difference was that much different. It's not as if the 95-97 front bumper is like a plate or tube bumper where the entire tire is exposed (as seen in your Frank pic in your signature :) )

right, i added to my post before you replied.

I can't imagine the difference to be that much. Who knows though. The 95-97 front is much more flat faced stock than the 98-00...:notsure:

It is. And I remember another member here so eloquently replying to a post of mine years ago... expressing concern about an mpg drop if I were to convert to a 95-97 front end:

"You're still driving a heavy brick through the wind regardless of the front bumper or grille"

While I do want to do my part for the environment (while fully realizing that my mere living is severely impacting it greatly) I'm more concerned about my truck's and wallet's health.

yeah. I mean the only time i ever broke 19 in Frank...well..pre frank..before he was frank and on 31s with no lift. Was driving to yellowstone and around yellowstone and back on 1 tank. Got 22 but the speed limits were 50-45 most the time. So..yeah.

Otherwise i always got 18-19 on the highway. And if i went 1mph over 71 or so...i got 15mpg haha
