    There are almost 600 pages....info. overload.
    Quick question-I'm looking at the OME kit w/dakars. I only want about 2" of lift.
    Do I need to replace the UCA's?

    Long answer: it depends on what you plan to do after you lift your truck.

    OK- I emailed Marie at HS OR. Got a bunch of good info. As I mentioned above I only want 2” total of lift and will be using OME.

    Me:
    2017 Tacoma Off Road 4x4 DC LB
    Weight on rear- Leer shell (couple hundred lbs?) can’t find exact weight
    -aftermarket rear bumper 115 lbs.

    Per website 887 coils will net 2” of lift.
    I plan on using soft struts 900021.

    Question:
    1. Dakar leafs? Light? AAL?
    2. How do I get it close to the same lift in the back? A little rake cool but I like the more level look.
    3. Besides the above weight my usual off road weight is the back full of camping gear. A couple hundred lbs. ? Does this matter in decisions?
    4. I tow a small skiff maxes out at 1500 lbs. not off road. No worries right?

    Thanks for feedback. Been reading threads for weeks my eyes hurt. Feeling overwhelmed.

    You will get about 2.75" of lift in the back if you go with any type of the Dakars once they settle. Thus you will have rake. Since you only want 2" of lift, go with 887's and a AAL to get that leveled look. My only concern with this is the stock leaf pack is absolute shit and you're carrying some weight. Might be worth living with some rake to put some stout Dakars out back for peace of mind.

    Thank you. This is the feedback I need.
    If I am looking at this correctly, 2” up front, 2.75 in back means a total of .75” rake? Is it that easy?
    I can live with that I definitely don’t want to mess with performance.

    Yes, it's that easy. And it won't make the ass end look jacked up. I have a 1/2" of rake despite a cap and about 300 pounds of constant load in the bed and it looks damn near level.

    Maybe I'm out of line here as I don't know a lot about these setups, but if the 2" front and 2.75" rear lift amounts are based off of stock heights, than wouldn't you now have 0.75" additional rake from what you had from the factory?

    No because you're replacing the factory suspension components. That logic would need to be taken into consideration with stock leaf packs and AAL's.

    Your truck looks great. Thanks again for the help, having not lifted on my previous Tundra, inches, mm, performance etc...gets overwhelming without an actual perspective.

    I think you are right, keeping a little extra rake in the back will compensate for when the truck is loaded down with camping gear which is usually when I am off road anyways.

    The additional length of the suspension components. For example, an OME 885 coil is 2" longer than the factory coil. This is where you're getting all of your lift from up front assuming you set your adjustable coils to 0 and don't use top plate spacers. For the rear, I'll try to find a side by side comparison of the stock leaf pack compared to Dakars. Huge difference resulting in almost 3" of lift once settled.

    I'm following what you're saying, what I'm saying is if you're gaining 2" front and 2.75-3" rear over stock heights than you effectively added .75-1" of extra rake compared to factory. This is my logic anyway

    Correct, because there's rake straight out of the factory that you have to compensate for. I believe it's 1.25" but I could be wrong. But that's where the combination of components matter to determine whether or not your rig maintains a degree of rake or is leveled.

    Ive mentioned this before but after a lift you want a slight rake. Perfectly level looks from afar like the front is high, something to do with the body / fender flare lines. Not to mention if you are perfectly level, as soon as you go camping/to home depot and have a moderate load you will be nose high and look goofy.

    If you are going to weight up the front of your truck/ Go with the 886 / It has a higher tension rate than the 888 and won't have the tendency to settle. They are only 3 mm shorter than the 888.

    I posted in my build thread and searched around as much as I could...trying to decide between the 883's or 882's for a 1st gen extra cab 4x4 V6 with a heavier steel bumper and 9000# winch. Today I just installed my 881/Bilstein 5100 combo into the front (billies set at zero) and only got about 1.75". the rear Dakar's are coming in the mail tomorrow and I don't want to have a bad rake.

    do I:

    1. reinstall the 881's with the billies at the middle (1" i think) groove
    2. install 882's on the billies, or
    3. 883's on the billies

    thoughts?

    I vote 883 if thats what you got. With more weight you'll want more spring. If you keep adjusting your struts, you'll loose travel.
