Before/after rattle can of the hi lift mounts. Not much difference in the pics, but I already took and uploaded the picture so I might as well post it

So I painted the Hi-Lift Mounts and switched it from against the back of the bed, to the electrical outlet/passenger) side:

Here is before mounted in the back

Here is after mounted on the side

And then a picture dump of it on the side... I had to remove the base because otherwise it wouldn't fit on the mount. I made sure the cubby (where the base is) and the outlet were accessible even with the lift mounted.

This is how far it sticks out... definitely not past the wheel well so I like that it's a slimmer profile w/out the base

Lastly, I like it on the side because when loading down the back with camping gear or whatever, 1.) I still have the entire length of the bed to work with and 2.) I can wedge things in between the lift and the wall for easy access with my windoors on the canopy

That's where I ended u putting mine. See if you can reconfigure your rear bracket or space it out enough for the base to fit. I also found some cool knobs to fasten it down at Lowes. Try flipping your jack over also may work maybe not

OoOoOoOo yes, I like those knobs better than the wing nuts

I already tried flipping it, but the mount makes it sit so low that the red handle would hit the wheel well
I'll probably just leave it, I have a Leatherman in the truck so taking out/putting in the pin takes seconds-a minute at max if it's dark and rainy haha

Look in the bins at Lowes where they have all the hardware. You'll have to dig through the drawers.

What did each one cost you, probably a few bucks each?
Thanks for the item # for reference... I'll probably get happily lost as my eyes wander the shelves for things I (don't) need

I also forgot that I re-did the hood strut mount. One of the rivets wasn't catching so it was pulling like so:

So I had to drill the hole bigger (SCARY) and put in something that when you screw it tighter, it expands.... I don't know the name of it but when I was at the hardware store I knew what I was looking for by functionality :cookiemonster:

    and all buttoned up:

It's not pretty but damnit it'll do!

I think I'm gonna pull the trigger on a couple of items:
1.) An OEM Bed Mat from @gunny1005
2.) A Bussman Relay, still deciding on the amps but thinking of going with something in the 60-100 range
3.) Probably gonna get some extra 4 AWG wiring, run it to the bed and wire up my VIAIR 440P air compressor and have a switch where my OEM Fog Lights switch used to be

Those will keep me busy for A WHILE. Especially the Bussman Relay, I'm planning on having some "Winter Cleaning" on the wires so it's clean AF even where others can't see

I just ordered a couple of things but nothing that exciting. I miss the bed mat I had in the other truck

Ha! I spent a total of $30. I got an SWR meter to tune the CB and another large quick fist to go on th fire extiguisher mount I'm making.

I thought about getting a CB but I had one on my 1st Gen and didn't hardly use it so I think I might be leaning more toward a handheld CB for this truck

I got the Cobra 75 WX ST it's very compact the Entire CB is the mike pretty much. I mounted the box part with it under the seat and the control/mike is on the trans tunel under my rt leg while driving so it's out of the way and unseen until I need it

Hmm you’re making me think about this a little more now that I went back and looked at my 1st Gen Cobra which I think is about the same size as the Cobra 75(?) not sure I’ll have to look when I’m at a computer next

Here’s the pics from that, different Taco but it at least gives me an idea of how compact and out of th way it is

That is compact. And nice. Eat install also. The 75 is like basically just having a mike

Went to the dog park and took some pics of the Taco.... I can't wait until I move out of the city, this wooded area is as good as it gets unless you actually head toward the mountains :rain:

Because I like to think my dog is looking at the truck like I do when I'm inside, but really he's just watching life go by... in his usual spot

Update on my patch game. The goal is to not buy excessive patches, but rather ones that mean something.

Driver side is gonna be whatever
Passenger side is (for now) a tribute to my 4 year stint with 3/1 in the Marine Corps and will remind me of dope, or shitty places those times took me to
