Their budget is just fine, they cite UPS 200,000.00 per month in parking tickets. Add to that FedEx and we pedestrians...Philadelphia has plenty of money!!

 

Erin Andrews is a fox. But I do agree with the majority of you that the play-by-play analysts should be likable retired players or very knowledgeable fans of the game (Al Michaels is a good example). He and Cris Collinsworth work. Pretty sure Nantz doesn't like Romo given the awkward silence at times this season calling games.

 

I don't think it's that Nantz doesn't like Romo, but more that he's got an entirely different energy. Nantz has a "not my first rodeo" kind of attitude, isn't easily flustered, and is a seasoned broadcaster. Tony is a kid eating way too much sugar.

 

A little off topic. I am not an Eagles fan. I work in Philadelphia. I am impressed with the city skyline. Buildings lit up in green. And the Eagles logo streaming across the side of one building in lights! It really is impressive to see. Credit where credit is due. Has anyone seen similar in other cities?

 

I add that electronic billboards along I-95 are showing Eagles inspirational messages.

Tony just can't figure out what he wants to say. He does have some decent input here and there, but he rarely finishes a sentence.

I just don't get how some people would rather have an attractive chick in the booth, rather than have great commentary on a game. That's what makes a game great. And no, she's not that attractive. There are way more attractive women out there.

 

For the 30 seconds out of the 3 hours they are on the screen.

 

In a world where there are a handful of things in your house to access the internet, you need a football show to see an attractive woman.

 

The folks in the booth are to be heard, not seen. Who cares what they are as long as they know what they're talking about and can actually speak. No mouth marbles, no donkey laughs, no lisps (sorry Iron Mike), and don't use 30 words when 8 will do. Actually know football, and have some legitimate insight and understanding of the players and team dynamics.

It ain't rocket surgery, because some of these folks ain't brain scientists. If JOE BUCK can do it...c'mon!

You literally just described Tony Romo with that sentence. I think that when he calms down about being in the booth and commentating that he'll improve. Right now he's on a sugar high. Scott Zolak was terrible his first year in the booth calling games over the radio, but he has improved the last couple of years. But, in his defense, he was trying to replace the superb Gino Cappeletti, and he and Gil Santos lacked the chemistry that the Gil/Gino duo had after nearly 30 years of working together.

 

Totally agree. Romo is smarter than he speaks. When his mouth slows down to the speed of his brain he'll be fine.
