I keep pricing out the cost of going too 35s and 4.88, its very tempting to just do it lol.

 

Anyone have pictures of their truck with the Pelfreybilt standard rear bumper?

I have been meaning to give some feedback here...I got the hypertech speedometer calibrator in and whats nice is now the unit has its own cd and software that you simply install on the pc. After doing this, you will put your original tire size and new tire size in the drop down menus and gears if you have them modded. After that you will hit a button to configure the speedo piece that will be put in your truck.

Currently my speedo numbers are a little higher than my actual speedo gauge reads (58 mph on dash, 70 actual). This is due to me having the actual original tire size wrong. I am going to test again this weekend with my original tire size (actual height AFTER a wheel is installed) updated on the program. Worst case I just have to play with it a little bit. Regardless, I should be able to find the actual original tire size eventually and will update those numbers when I get it confirmed. Just a matter of time.

 

How difficult and time consuming was it to get behind the front dash/instrumental panel? I'm Assuming you still had to do that.

 

Does it fix the odo too?

 

Yep I had to do that...all of the upper dash consists of clips AND two push pins on the underside lip of the dash gauge area...for the most part you remove two 10mm bolts on the lower dash bezel and then tug the rest of it off.

My process is as follows:

• Pull the bottom drivers kick panel to reveal and remove the 10mm bolt
• Pull open the rectangular tab at the middle bottom of the lower dash plastic bezel
• After tab is open, remove the 10mm bolt inside
• Pull out the tray on lower dash bezel (held in place by four clips)
• Starting from the tray area, lightly tug on the lower dash piece and make your way to the door area
• After the lower bezel is disconnected, identify the two push pins underneath the lip of the dash gauge area. You can use a small rod or screwdriver to simply push the middle part of the pin out and then pull out the circular base around it.
• Start from the tray area again and start slowly pulling on the upper dash area and make your way to the door
• You will see a clip on the top left of the dash that has a lot of wires going to it, use your index finger and push down the clip release and pull off
• Use the supplied hypertech green board and plug the OEM existing clip into the panel (C1) I believe
• Use the supplied hypertech wiring clip that is identical to the OEM one that was removed and plug that into the dash
• Plug the other end of the supplied hypertech wiring clip into the supplied green board into slot (C2), directions with the unit can clarify this
• Plug the programmable mini block (after configuring it with supplied cd software) into the supplied wiring clip bundle
• Reverse process with the upper dash install and then the lower dash and install both 10mm bolts back at the bottom

Once you do this, you will realize how simple this process is...Removing the two bolts is the most time consuming part with only being about 20 seconds per bolt. I can do all this in about 2 min.

 

I don't know if it will as I think the odometer uses other sensors to get its overall value which the hardware may not overwrite. Worst case you are going further mileage wise than the ODO will state. That said, I could be wrong here with the ODO being altered.

 

For anyone interested, this is how the truck sits with the Wheelers 1.5” single leaf AAL with the overload spring still in place loaded with approx 1,100 lbs of steel nearly centered on the axle. Drives fine.

 

I just got my front and rear seat covers by Wet Okole and they look great. They look nice and they feel pretty durable but they were a little pricey and it took two and a half weeks to get them after I ordered them. The upside is that they will install them free of charge at their location......here's a before and after photo.

 

Is it still a Baja if you replace everything that made it a Baja?

 

They look good! I was quoted four weeks for mine to ship out! Not looking forward to the install.

What kit are you looking at? As of recently, I concur that all pro is garbage in the new and old kit with dimensional problems and binding. Dirt king is having an issue with the seals on their 3.5 kit and is currently doing a redesign. If you got the coin, I would consider the lsk kit that utilizes the j arm and double shear boxed spindles that work with 4x4.

 

Yep, and the rear end dictates speed. Many peeps throw on the front kit and then cheap out the rear. They learn quickly how that combination causes bucking like riding a horse.
