Yeah, 886. I thought yours was steel but couldn't remember. I do remember you said yours even ran a little stiff. With that in mind I opted for the softer 90021 nitrochargers up front. The impression that I got was that with a bumper the 887/billies would be ok at 0. But you increased your risk of failure and losing lift height the more weight you added. I'd like to keep my options open regarding a winch and it was easier to just get the 886s now rather than replace the whole front strut assembly later if I did get a winch.

@exportexp has claimed dibs. If he changes his mind you're welcome to them.

The mods have probably changed since last update.
I'm in my man! It's been a long time since I did but would love to get back into it.

There was a favorite Tacoma picture thread I was looking at the other day and some of the shots of these trucks out in various places made me want to start doing the same. May need to start investing in mods that help more with trips, camping, etc. so I can freakin go places without worrying about where I'm going to sleep that night...

Here's the link to that thread: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/favorite-photo-of-your-rig.529270/

Gas to make it go is the only mod you need. You've got secure shelter anywhere you go... no need to worry about where you're sleeping.

Point is, get out there. You never really know what you need until you need it.

Beef ribs were meh, Jack Allens deep fried beef ribs are 100x better, but everything else was super awesome.

Finally got the console safe installed. Made In The USA! And the crap fixed in Leander, also in USA!

    Left to right:

    - These are the bolts sent with the console safe. When I opened the box, I told the wifie, "hmmm... these look just like the bolts I saw last week when I was in their shop; the ones the guy said were incorrect, because they weren't threaded high enough." They were supposed to be getting in a new batch of bolts over the weekend, and I would get the new ones. Guess not.

    - These are the bolts they sent after I got ahold of the company owner by phone, after he didn't respond to my email. These bolts were threaded higher, and evidently, they don't sell cutting oil in San Antonio, judging from the raggedy ass nature of the threads. Oh, and these bolts had 5mm cut off the length; the owner said that was the other thing that was wrong with the first batch. If they don't look 5mm shorter, don't adjust your TV, THEY'RE NOT!

    - And finally, the bolts I bought at Lowe's on Wednesday, after my second request for an RMA went unanswered, and I figured I like the safe itself, just not the crap bolts the company sent out. I dug out a vernier calipers, from back in my day as a machinist, took some measurements, and bought the correct bolts. (The shorter one didn't need the threads all the way up, but that was the only type they had in the 40mm length.) Quality sucks these days!

He makes a very valid point. It's very easy to get sucked into the mod frenzy.Chances are you will never need those things.

As far as where to sleep goes, I normally crash in the truck.
Parking lots, rest areas, trailheads, side streets.
Reflectix panels in the windows keeps prying eyes out while allowing you to park in well-lit areas.
