My bad, I was just pointing to the op. I quoted poorly.

Understood. Didn't mean to throw a wrench into the plans.

Not exactly. They are 3” taller than stock, but that’s overall diameter. So you’ll net 1.5” high ground clearance. Which is great to gain with no lift, but not 3”.

255s on my 2nd gen resulted in a noticeable loss of power upon take off, reduced mpg, longer braking distances. Your average 255 is an E load tire that weighs almost 60lbs so I knew what I was getting into and I loved them for what they were.

Needless to say, all of the sizes will have Pros and cons so only you can decide what you want/need.

Duh that makes sense. 1.5" is still noticeable and I have been reading about power, mpg's and someone stated that in high winds it's more noticeable too so of course all that goes into consideration.

ok I have it down to 3 lift choices ranging in price so I'm still trying to determine which I want to go with, but my question is if I lift the truck, are there other things I have to know, be concerned/worried about? Meaning, do I have to drastically slow down in corners, is there more nose diving while on brakes, is it difficult to get it back into alignment and are there more stress on all the other parts of the truck that I would have to address later?

just do 887 coilovers on bil 5100s in the front set at zero. And billies in the back with a 3 leaf aal. it'll be perfect. i stressed long enough for you and i both. its the best lift to do without getting crazy.

Just curious, why the 887's over the 888's since the 888's are approx 1/2" taller and have the same spring rate

From what I was told, that would leave my front end higher than the back. Didn’t want that look. Also pushed it up that much higher and for sure would need new upper control arms. Didn’t want to do that either. Although might still. Will finish my install on Tuesday and see how alignment goes Wednesday.

I been reading as long as front isn't over 2.5" then uca's are not needed, but 2" is probably safer

I know this is a bit above your budget but i spent ~$2500 for everything. 5100’s all around, stock springs, 1” block in the rear, Ray 10’s, and KO2’s.

Leveling kit and AAL from Headstrong. I think it looked fine, but stock tires wore out way before I thought they would, so hang in there!

Looks perfect! And now for some noob questions: any rub? What size tires? How’s the ride compared to these hitachi shocks?

I only rub when the suspension is flexed at 3/4-full lock and it’s pretty minimal. I don’t off road much so it doesn’t rub 95% of the time that I’m driving. This is also due to my wheel setup, the Ray10’s have -10mm offset and 4.30” of back space. I have 275/70/17 sized tires. And the ride in my opinion is way better, not as bouncy in the front. The back can every now and then be a little bouncy due to the block and how much tire pressure you have in the tires which creates a very stiff suspension so the point that it bounces on the smallest change in road surface. It was remedied for me by bringing down the tire pressure to ~32 PSI.
Attached is a picture of when it first got lifted, you can see that the tires have a good amount of clearance.
And hey man slowly but surely! Took me about 6 months to get her where she is, and not even close to done! Just entry level mods for now:benchpress:

Well it looks good for entry level products. How does it ride compared to stock?

Yeah absolutely man. Only thing I would maybe change and I may possibly be doing here soon by spring as well is an AAL in the back instead of a block to eliminate the semi bouncy ride in the rear.
