The Iggy camper was designed so that you can move the panel above the truck bed up to the front and push the bed out of the way, resulting as being as large as what the Flippac offers. It isn't setup with gas struts to lift the entire thing out of the way like the troopy, but I don't mind a tiny bit of extra work. See quote below:

I understand that it's not "that much work" to dismantle the bed so that you can stand. But if you look at the troopy or expedition overlands habitat or goose gears habitat they are all designed so that you can be in the truck while the bed is in place. You can be out of the elements, doing work or anything else without having to break down the bed.

The reality is that there are some great options now and in the near future that weren't even possible not that long ago. Everyone just has to decide which features are important to them before they make a purchase.

Also to bump this earlier comment since a lot of people miss it with 45 pages in the thread ...

It's funny you bring that up! We built a V1 with a bed platform like that. I don't know if we are going to make them that way because the bed doesn't work exactly the way we want. But we have tried a bit of everything with the V1, so we've put a lot of work and thought into what we are doing.

Another advantage of the V1 removable panel, as opposed to the whole bed flipping up, is that you can put little kids to bed on the shorter portion and still have full use of living area. Or an extra cushioned seating area for inclement weather camper parties...

It's in the thread, but it may change a little bit since V2 is different...

Yeah - but there weren't any posts for a while. It would be good to see the OP give an overall update. I don't want to go through 45 pages to see where everything is going.

Bummer. Well here's an update so you don't have to read the thread. The v1 camper is dead. V2 is being finalized. Once it is, then you'll have ONE place to read all the info about it.

    Just the basics
Just put some effort into the past few pages and you'll be up to date.
Surely the OP is busy with life and trying to get this thing to production and there's no new news. He did post two days ago. That's pretty recent.

Thanks guys! Dimensions on V2 won’t be much different than V1. I’ll be releasing all the details when we launch.

We are moving at 110% so lack updates doesn’t mean we are not doing anything, but quite the opposite. Phase 1 was working on our patent which is already pending. Right now its making sure our infrastructure is done. Not really the updates that make our Instagram look good, but the most important part of any business.

Manufacturing is not my first rodeo so I’m making sure everything is done to the high standards I hold for myself.

Ok, I'm ready. I sold my mint condition Flippac today. Will I be your first 1st Gen customer?

Damn, my cell phone camera quality is terrible. Maybe I'll get a new phone first so I can Instagram better.

Haha! It’s not real if you can’t post it. So maybe the phone is a good idea.

Heck yeah man! You’ll have to come by the shop so we can test fit one on the first gen.

    That's great to hear.

Some questions, for whenever you have time:

    1. Will there be a mattress included in the camper? What kind/thickness? How much more compressible bedding can be placed on top while still allowing the camper to close?

    2. Will there be bug nets on the windows?

    3. Will the "solid" windows still be accessible with the bug nets in place? ie. solid windows inside the bug nets, so they can be rolled up/down, or bug-nets on a zipper and solid windows outside.

    4. Are all these windows and their closure methods expected to be waterproof?

    5. Are you expecting a weatherproof seal between the bottom of the camper and the bed sides? (Assuming the "corner gap" found on 3rd gen Tacos is properly filled in.) Based on your experiences...

    6. Can the interior of the roof be had with some sort of bungee net, or at least hooks that a net can be attached to? I have this in my James Baroud Explorer and it's great for tucking away clothing and sleeping items.

    7. Will the sleeping area have any wall/roof mounted pockets for small items?

    8. In a rain, water will pool between the vertical, fabric walls and the metal/structure below. Are there some kind of run-off channels for the water to escape?
