Had mine in for it's first 6 month checkup, which took 4 hours for some reason, even though it was just a tire rotation and "inspection." It took so long that they threw in a free oil/filter change which wasn't part of the service.

Anyway, it gave me plenty of time to meander around the lot. Not a single PRO to be found, but there were some Offroad's, Sport's and SR5's. I think the new grill could be nice, but with apologies to those that have an '18, that enlarged, solid emblem looks awful. It even looks bad on the '17 style grill on the '18 SR5. Looks to me like a giant, glossy eyeball in the middle of the grill. Not sure what they were thinking on that one.

With all the new gadgets and such, I'm really happy I didn't wait. Gotta justify my purchase you know...:p

I saw your post as I was thinking the same thing. I noticed the '18's no longer offer the heated seats in cloth, which I think is one of the best options available. I've had leather in vehicles for years, up until this Tacoma. I was pleasantly surprised that they offered heated cloth seats. They seem to wear better, don't get really hot in the sun or cold in the winter and warm up really nicely when I want them to. It's all about the little things, I guess.

Really? Glad you got one a year older because of an emblem (that 90% of enthusiasts will ditch when they swap the grill) and added features that keep you safer?

I think your last line was the true point of your thread.

I have a Pro with leather seats. I really wish Toyota had forgone leather and instead went with some "active-wear" cloth material or something like that instead. The leather feels fine I guess but looks cheesy as hell with that small square embossing running down the middle.

The grille is super easy to take off... Anyone could just replace it with a trd pro grille or sr5 one. Some people might actually like the 2018 grill

They were thinking safety for you and others, but what the hell does Toyota know about any of that

The only feature I like on the 18's is the adaptive cruise control...that would be useful for me since I drive around 35mi of highway to/from work.

Both years r fine. I am just glad I purchased a 17 so if I ever did lift I wouldn’t have to worry about any of the safety features not functioning properly. The emblem is kind of weird, but the truck is still just as nice.

So you started a thread to bash other Tacoma owners. Got it. Just wanted to understand.

It’s big and glossy because it doubles as the radar for the adaptive cruise control..

I like that it’s up there like that. The sensor on my ‘18 Escape(company car) is right below the front plate and gets blocked with snow every time it snows..

We traded our 16 and really like the new 18 better. The adaptive cruise control works great.
