bull bars yay or nay?

It depends on what your use for it is, some people like it for looks in my case i wanted more lights for when i offroad at night and it comes in handy, the do not help you with accidents or push anything just a simple cosmetic mod.

 

If you want something for light pushing or that might (arguably) offer a small bit of protection in the event of an accident/deer-strike, consider a Westin grill-guard with the rubber covered uprights. You can also mount additional off-road lights on it just as you could on a bull-bar. Of course, the "look" is different (see my avatar) from a bull-bar and fashion/tastes can vary, seems like the bull-bar look is popular now.

 

Nay, mine is long enough as well, although I would love to get a light bar. Just don't have the garage room to park it!

I don't really like them. Some look better than others though.

 

it was a place to put some lights, and the shape matches the shape of the tacoma grill almost exactly.
not all trucks can say that, seems like it's a tacoma thing.

if i had a way to remove the lower grill and mount it THROUGH there so that it actually fit over the grill, that might be interesting.
but i'd have to fab up some crazy new mounts.

or buy something like this, in black.

y'know...IF i wanted to destroy the front of my hood in a minor collision.

 

well I was thinking of buying one simply for cosmetic reasons but now I'm not so sure..

 

I am looking at an AllPro front bumper... for DC traffic of course

 

Nay...dont like how bull bars mount from the bottom and hand down. go with the n-fab if you want some lights.

I considered it for a second. For the street, it serves no purpose for me and I never go off-roading.

 

now that I think about how the bull bar would hinder air bag deployment in the event of an accident I've decided naaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

 

I say Nay. Bull bars Hang way to low up front, could possibly get you hung up on obstacles off-road, and clearance issues. If you take it in the mud it will act like a plow, slowing you down, or getting you stuck.

 

If you wheel, don't waste your time with one. I have one and though I think it looks good, it was a mistake to buy. It blocks your recovery point and severely limits your ground clearance/approach angle.

 

Yay, imo between a brush guard and a bull bar. The bull bar looks a whole lot better.
