I wish we had a park like that near me! My dog Pokey loves the water. Luckily we have a pool, so I can throw her tennis ball in there to fetch.

My dog looked exactly like that as a puppy when I got him about 3.5 years ago.

We thought he was a Rott/German Shep/chow when we got him. But when he was older we realized he was akita/gs/chow. Mutts are the best!

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!

Maybe I am oversensitive but please don't start with the "adoption is the way to go".....We have a rescued cat and she is the coolest, but comes with baggage. I promise that anyone else would have put her down, but we have worked through her problems. We attempted to adopt a rescue Boxer and weren't accepted. Millions of animals get put down and we were turned down for reasons we disclosed from the beginning (no fence and the cat). IDK, just pulls the heart strings when I hear the adoption thing. We tried and were denied. Now we have our best friend, and we bought him, from a RESPONSIBLE breeder. It doesn't make us any less than you. Our breeder actually was solicited by a someone whom she denied, and turned out to be part of a dog fighting ring. Yes they can make money, but they also screen their puppies families. If we all rescued, eventually there would be no animals to adopt. I support adoption (and those who adopt), rescues that are reasonable and breeders that work for the best of their breed.

Just an FYI. ALOT of "breeders" euthanize their white boxer puppies. They consider them less valuable as the brindle and fawn. Look at his goofy boxer face, and tell me he is any less valuable to us.

I see the merits on both sides. We used to have a Rhodesian Ridgeback on the ranch when I was a kid who was purchased from a breeder.

My Springer/Border Collie mix was a rescue. He was a stray for months and when I adopted him he had his issues. We've gotten to be really close and he's learned to trust people again and it's amazing to see the transformation. He's given me my share of headaches but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Yes both sides do have there merits. We just don't need an "adopting your pet makes you a saint" on every other page. There are a lot of good people on here that run rescues, adopt pets, foster pets, etc, and bless them for doing it. The only thing that truly matters is that whatever pet you have, give it the love and attention it deserves. I can adopt 3 dogs, 2 cats and a horse and neglect everyone of them. There are millions of starving under privileged children in this world, we don't have people suggesting to adopt them on TW. We attempted to adopt a dog, and were turned down, it hurt us alot for MANY reasons. So we have a purchased puppy and a rescued cat. They are our lives, no matter where they came from.

I am very sorry for your loss, I truly can't imagine.
He definitely turns heads and confuses people on his breed. Just never bring them along if you commit a crime, everyone will know who you are!! LOL

i had an 8 year old pass 2 years ago due to bad shots (read up on them).

anyway this video helped me to get onother as quick as i did and give me some comfort in knowing i did the best i could. some people wonder how in the world we can love a dog so much, and sometimes i think to myself "its just a dog", but i guess till they let one live in their home instead of in the backyard serving no purpose except for haveing a dog for their kids, they will never have the pleasure of knowing sincere loyalty, true friendship, dedication, one in a million personality, and just how happy "just a dog" can bring to their lives.
we put her down just 2 hours after this pic. she was at the point to where she couldnt make it 10' to get a drink of water.
the other pic is my 12 year old marvin and 2 year old abbie.

A blessing of peace to all of you who remember...this is what makes up our character and shows our strengths to all who know us. A special blessing to those who have passed for the wonderful and loving memories they left us and the impressions on our lives to make us a better animal ourselves....

They say in the beginning when God created heaven and earth he created all things equal
When God sat on the seventh day and saw the difference between man and animal he knew he would have to divide them
So God began to drive a great chasm between man and the animal kingdom
As man realized what was happening he turned back to the animals and called out-"join me!"
Only dog jumped across the great chasm to serve by mans side forever---

-Maybe that is why Dog got the privelege of its name and it's spelling both forward and backwards.

---As for Cats someone has to tell me about them I still don't have them figured out....LOL.

Not maybe but you definately are being over sensitive ... i did not say i have anything against people buying dogs i just wanted to thank people who adopt or rescue dogs ... never said people who buy dogs from breeders are stupuid or whatever ... I myself bought 2 dogs instead of adopting or rescuing them .... but i realized that i can adopt or rescue one instead of buying ... All i said was Thank you i am not against people buying dogs fro breeders ...

go ahead and open up a thread with " show us your sponsored child or adopted children" and see how many people actually will show you their support to all the starving children throughout the world... I dont think we need to be so over sensitive on something this small... Have a great day !

Holy chit, I've done a lot already!!
Did you actually read what I had to say, or just take offense to it? I think we all appreciate the people who take the time and love and do what they do. We love our animals, and it shows on these pages. But as I said, it doesn't matter where you get them from, what matters is how you treat them once you have them. My co-worker has a "pound" dog, its locked in the basement. It's mean, and has even bit him! Does that make any sense? Absolutely not. So he rescued a dog and what kind of life does it have. My sincere thanks goes to the people who love their animals, who have control of their animals, who commit to their animals(for a lifetime), who vaccinate their animals and provide proper medical care, who teach non-aggression, who train their animals, who pick up poop after their animals, those who are responsible and loving owners. Because if everyone gave the amount of love and commitment to their animals as they deserved, we wouldn't be having this conversation. And yes I can be oversensitive. :(

And now back on the thread subject.............

    How they touch our lives......

I fully agree. I will be lost. The sad part is in 33 yrs I have never had to deal with it. All of my past animals have gone away to pass. Boxers are an amazing breed, so loving, so animated, and oh so difficult sometimes!! :D

I've noticed that there are a ton of tacoma owners that own boxers as well. Maybe becuase its the 6th most popular dog in america and the tacoma is the most popular mid sized truck but i like to beleive they go well together. LOL. No offence to all other breeds because as the old fart from nissan once said "dogs love trucks"
