Just found a bottle of CBS at my local ABC. Super excited to try it after all the hype.

This week was my turn to host, and we started out with a home brew given to me today from my mailman. This was his first attempt at a sour. It was good, but not great. Kind of a one-note beer and not very sour. Lots of lemon.

Next up was Jolly Pumpkin Oro De Calabaza, which was probably the overall favorite of the evening. Complex flavors and well balanced.
    JP.jpg

Third was Po Tweet from Hermit Thrush Brewery out of Vermont. I personally love this beer and could drink it every day.
    HT1.jpg

Fourth was Battleberry from Hermit Thrush. This has a really funky aroma and is very tart. Sharp apples and raspberries.
    HT2.jpg

Fifth was The Plague from Draai Laag out of Pittsburg, PA. I've been wanting this beer for a couple years and finally got one last month. Tonight was the first tasting with sutbtle but complex flavors.
    DL.jpg

Last was an un-labeled bottled from Los Angeles Ale Works, which was brought in from another friend in the group, Brian, who happens to be in charge of the barrel program at Los Angeles Ale Works. This will be called Controlled Ascent and will be their 1st anniversary release that will be available next month.

Where in socal is this? Those wings look good
Next time we go camp remind me to bring a bottle. I've got some good sours tucked away.

I've heard good things from Modern Times's beer. Blackberry Sours are my favorite sours. I'm not a fan of sours to begin with.

Tonight's libations at the local craft beer club.

Maple Shade from Parish Brewing in Louisiana. Supposed to be like CBS (Canadian Breakfast Stout)

An amazing IPA from Trillium. Top 5 brewery IMO.

Raspberry & Lime Gose from Aslin. Great sour with lots of Raspberries. Wish I had more of these.

A good beer from America's first all imperial brewing company. Wish it was a little more hazy. Still a lot of juice in it though.

Might be my least favorite Trillium that I've had. Does not stand out compared to other Trillium beers.

Ending the night with a little something from @Iamraiderpower!! Can see where ther "biscuity notes" come from.

Tonight's super late night/really early morning treat (since it's just past midnight out here in CT).

Got home a little bit ago from a comedy show at our local Portuguese club, put the kids in their beds, and now it's time to relax.

Hummulus terreux is a solid beer. Super crushable. I drink that on tap frequently from the source

That goose looks tasty, might need ya to throw one them in a soap delivery. That Kolsch is an interesting beer in the fact that like you said, the “biscuity” notes make ya go “ohhh that’s what they mean”:D
I’m loving the color! That looks like it tasted really goooooood
