You need to follow the directions for the seat itself. The truck part is easy. Two latch attachments are easy to find. Hook the seat base latch attachments to them and tighten everything down. Your seat directions will give you the rest. Rear facing in these trucks is kinda tight. Once you turn them around not so bad.

Check out the owners manual and instructions for your particular child seat... That is a good place to start.. Also youtube search for some videos... Let's see what we can come up with..

They make them pretty easy to install now. Usually each side latches on and you tighten the straps. Some bases are adjustable to get the overall base level for the car seat.

We had the key fit 30 and the britax marathon and my mother in law in the back seat when we first got the truck.

We have moved to the marathon and some other front facing seat. It’s a pain with rear facing behind the driver, but not too bad with the front facing kid behind me. No more room for mother in law.

We take the truck over the CRVwhen ever we do a family trip.

I like to take the seats out and put them in the bed and pretend I don’t have kids when ever I can.

Truck has child seat latch system as all new vehicles or you can use the seat belt

There are no latch connectors for the middle. Some people use one from each side for the middle seat (which is not recommended). Doesn’t work when you have 2 baby/intermediate seats.

That looks like a much better and more cost effective solution than a new full size crew cab truck

Yeah. The first two years between this truck and my 4Runner it was tight with her rear facing. But now that she is turned around. And the slim size of the Diono it is completely comfortable in there on longer trips

Uhhh.... so i have an access cab i purchased years before we had a child. Hes 3 now and its starting to get cramped for the passenger and or my son. Most times its either a passenger or him, getting harder to do both. Suggestions? I have too much in this truck and do not want to start over.

Just realized this is a 3rd Gen talk, Im 2nd Gen

The seat is in passenger minor comfort position, when my son is buckled in the seat must go forward and hes gettin bigger! I was unable to use anable to use anchor points as they are in drivers side and there is no way i can drive like that. I hate using just the seat belt but i sat on the seat and pulled for the life of me, only to find there is still sloppyness in tge car seat. We mainly use the 4runner when transporting him because i feel better about it.

For years i drove single cab toyota pickups( god i miss them) and i bought this tacoma. My first thought at that time was man what am gonna do with all this room?!! Now had i not invested so much into this truck and could predict the future the few thousand more for the double cab doesnt sound all that bad haha

+1 on the Recaro Performance Sport. We have the same one. It’s too bad that Recaro pulled their whole child safety product line from the country.

Anyways, I’ve got the Recaro for my son and my daughter sits in a Clek Oobr booster. Those are really nice. Super sturdy. Latches in so you don’t have to buckle up an empty seat. Has a magnesium body. Reclines. And they look really mod.
