If I had to have only one bike right now (in some bizzaro nightmare world) it would be a 27.5+ chameleon with a GX Eagle drivetrain.

And dont hate on the Honda 49RR, its too legit to quit

Chameleon is a pretty cool rig. What part of MI are you in? My buddies in the U.P. (back home) who have 1-bike quivers are usually on a Borealis. In fact, one guy runs 5" tires in winter, then converts to 29+ for the summer. Really neat setup.

I love my trail hardtail, but my complaint with the Chameleon is that it's aluminum. Steel has much nicer ride compliance (especially for an aggressive built hardtail- my bike has a 140mm Pike) and even though there's a weight penalty, the ride is so much better. Take it from someone who had an aluminum one first.

I am in the lower peninsula by Grand Rapids. All the trails down here are MI style rolling hills and generally pretty fast, so 29ers rule around here for most.

If I was to include winter riding for a 1 bike setup around here, it would probably be a Salsa Beargrease or Bucksaw, with two wheelsets.

Great setup! Is that a soft tonneau cover, and if so, can you roll it up all the way to the cab while the crossbars are in place?

That looks like a soft shell tri-fold to me, so I'd say no.

great, not really impacted by the rain forecast at all. Also, is always a great off season race/party since nobody is really too serious about it.

Hi All, can anyone confirm that the Thule T2 Rack (Classic or PRO?) will allow you to drop the tailgate?

I can't speak to that combo specifically. However, if you're running an aftermarket rear bumper with some sort of a hidden hitch setup, I can guarantee you it won't work. I've found them to be kinda hit and miss though, because with my stock hitch setup my Yakima tray style rack didn't work, but my RockyMounts Split Rail did. Maybe if your LBS has one you could have it test fitted first.

It will not at least with the 2017 and T2 pro combo. If left to it's own devices the tailgate will smack the circular pivot point of the rack.

a 1UP may work better, but I think you can only use the outside rack on the 2 rack 1UP if you want the tailgate to come down.

Works on mine. The rack needs to be in the down position and the tailgate will lightly sit on the highest part of the rack but it poses no problems for me so far. Picture of my rack below, Its the Thule T2.

My girlfriend and I are avid mountain bikers. I ride a Specialized Enduro and a Stumpjumper 6fattie and she rides a Specialized Rhyme fattie with a DVO setup on suspension. Check out my youtube channel LiveWayOut, I have free stickers if you subscribe! DM me and I will get stickers to you :), or if you park by us you might find some on your windshield. You can see it on my back window there.

Thanks for the info! To confirm you have the T2 Pro?
Sub'd to the channel. Love the name.

It seems like if I dig way back in this thread someone had mentioned the T2 Classic may work.
