Had a great explanation at Oktoberfest in Munich with an Aussie about this chant.

Basically, you only do it abroad, as a douchey way of showing patriotism to 'Straya.

If you do it at home, it become more of a nationalist, "fuck off immigrants, ya aren't welcome here" and the oi, oi, oi is the agreement "yeah, piss off"

 

You’ll hear it at international matches too. Had a neighbor in Brisbane that bleed green and gold that would invite us to matches. The spectators were always more fun than the event.

 

Agreed. The antics of the aussies in our beer hall were the highlight of the day.

Wegman's was the best part of working on the east coast. Hands down the best supermarket chain I've ever seen.

 

We can get Mexican soda down here in knock-off Coke bottles. Real sugar. Fantastic stuff, like the Nehi from the 70s.

Good job there on the drift boat!
Just found this out a while back: McKenzie Dories were the first "drift boats" and basically started here in Oregon. Early versions were ran on our Rogue River here in Grants Pass in the late 1800's. Pretty cool local fun fact for us here in lil' ol' Grants Pass, Oregon.
