I was looking at getting skids for my next upgrade. Then bumpers and way down the list was a re-route. guess I'll either need to make exhaust a higher priority or buy a second tcase skid sometime in the future.

You could always do the pelfreybilt version. They have a portion which you could cut out once rerouted and then weld a plate back in its place. Or just not install the t case skid till the reroute is done. What kind of wheeling will you be doing? If you plan on wheeling the Rubicon and fordyce I would go BAMF since it says you are in Sac. they are in the bay area and you would save on shipping. They are 1/4in.

Exhaust reroute will cost you like an extra 70$. Just do it. While you're waiting for (relocated exhaust) skids.

I can not see the point of the fancy paint on a skid plate. I used cheap bedliner on mine as I beat the tar out of it. I have re-applied the coating quite a fee time due to the abuse it takes
Need to upgrade from the factory skid as I punched a hole on it on my last trip!

As someone who owns a TRD skid, it definitely doesn’t suck. They’re probably not anywhere close to the burliest out there but they have a good mix of toughness and looks especially if you’re trying to go with a TRD theme. My Pro came with it and I’m happy with it. I do occasional off road (crawling, not high speed) and it has held up well.

I'm not having a shop (or dealer) touch it. It will either be a bolt-on or I'm buying a welder and doing the work myself.

Being in Sac I'm sure there has to be a quality exhaust shop that will make you one for cheaper.

It is nice doing stuff on your own. I've done everything on my own besides the regear. I don't have any experience with differentials.

A regear is the one thing that scares the crap out of me.

Anyway I think I've derailed this thread enough. Sorry OP.

If your heart is set on the Toyota brand one, there's a decal for $20, but I don't see the point of putting a sticker on something that's meant for getting chewed up:
    Decal: https://www.ebay.com/i/302142324786?chn=ps
    Skid: https://parts.toyotaofnashua.com/oe...MIzNCjsez42AIVgz2BCh16WAXWEAQYASABEgK1x_D_BwE

    At that point, you're into a 27 pound 1/4" (3g) aluminum skid $357+$20+ shipping.

I'm probably the third guy to mention this in the thread but, BPF has a group buy on 9/64" (10g) steel TRD stamped skid that's $220+$45 shipping with a free tow hook ($91 value):

Yes, I can cut this in Cement. Just add a note with your request for cement.

Yes, they should stick fine to the powdercoated surface.

I would recommend @rrentrop if your looking to install vinyl lettering over the TRD stamp on the skid. He offers a higher quality product that will withstand the extra normal road/rain/snow/gravel/de-icer abuse from being undercarriage.

I have been looking at the Mobtown (@Mobtown Offroad) front skid and mid skid. However, I am concerned that they will not be compatible with the Ranch Hand Legends brush guard I am wanting to buy. Does anyone know if brush guards and skid plates mount in the same place?

Post a link to the brush guard and I’ll check it out and let you know.

If you're that concerned with the look of it you're probably not wheeling. Cause anyone using it would know it's going to get beat wheeling.

So paint may hold up fine
