TRD Pro Grille for $140?

Got mine in today from bruce shark. 2 most outside tabs are broke. the tape on the back of the letters may or may not make it through a complete Arizona summer. I ordered and then found out about the parts guy at camelback toyota who sells toyota ones for around 40 bucks more. If I had to do it again I would order from toyota...but im anal so ur call.

 

Has anyone bought a grill from Camelback Toyota and what was the total?

 

I would give both a chance to show up before sending one back. If the Amazon grill has the individual stick on letters I would return it and keep the two piece recamera Grill.

 

In another thread someone was quoted $238.37 shipped. That is for the 2018 Pro grille PT228-35180 and garnish

Ordered one from grill-pro off ebay for $135 on January 17th and received it on January 25th (two piece). Perfect condition, solid box, wrapped in Styrofoam with Styrofoam blocks in-between the tabs. Very satisfied. Waiting for snow and cold temps to subside before installing.

Received my grille from grill-pro today - packaged perfectly, no broken pieces, looks awesome!! Can't wait to get it installed!

 

Here goes attempt 2. I was the guy from several pages back that ordered from ebay and got a 'ring' instead of a grille. The seller was garbage and didn't respond to anything. Ebay however was terrific and refunded the purchase. Took several weeks to go through their process though - but overall I'm satisfied with Ebay.

Just placed an order from Areyourshop on Amazon. Expected Friday 2/2/18.

 

Late to the party, but can you order the 2018 TRD Pro Grille (PT228-35180) for a 2017? Have seen it as low as $170 from Toyota Parts Department. Will it have a hole underneath “ TOYOTA” or not. Will I have to order the “garnish?” And is it a simple install without any modifications in a 2017? Thanks in advance.

 

I don't have one yet, but from what I can gather from https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/trd-pro-style-front-grille.529887/page-2 the 2018 grille will fit a 2017 without modification, there will be a hole underneath "TOYOTA" on the 2018 grille and you will need the garnish if you want to fill that hole. The other option I considered, if you don't like the look of the garnish, you may be able to find someone on the forum that bought a 2016-2017 Pro grille and installed it on a 2018 and has the removable plastic piece they are willing to sell. I haven't seen anything that confirms it is a direct fit in the 2018 pro grille though, I am working under the assumption that it is.

 

Ordered my grill from grill-pro on ebay Jan 24th at 3:30pm from Portland, OR. It is out for delivery today (Jan 29th) via USPS. Will let ya'll know how it shows up, but so far super impressed with the time frame.

 

For anyone worried about these knockoff grills being fragile or cheap, just saw this one posted on FB. I figured it would've just shattered.

I can attest to the strength of the Chinese grilles. I bought one back in December....arrived with some damage. Long story short....the seller agreed to fully refund if I would destroy the grille and send proof. Fair enough. I couldn’t break the damn thing even by driving the truck over it! Ended up cutting it down the middle with my angle grinder. Sent them a pic and got my refund.

 

Another vote for grill-pro. Shipped from US, arrived within one week. Zero broken tabs, excellent packaging. Two piece design and it included screws to attach the emblem.

This is a little late but how is your grille holding up? Also did you have to buy the extra piece to fill the hole below the letters, a garnish I believe it’s called?
