    i need help with battery issue i have put new battery in and less than 2000 miles battery is dead again checked battery with multi meter and it is 9.36 volts truck has not been drove in about 1 week,please help

    Charge battery with a battery charger. Start the truck. Check charging voltage with a multimeter.

    i charged the battery for a while and the truck cranked,while hold a multi meter on the terminals it read 13.92 and it dropped slowly to 13.62 in about 5 to 10 minutes with everthing run lights air radio etc really confused the truck has 38000 miles on it i am hoping if anything it is only a alternator,but i an afraid it may be something else any suggestions would be appreciated

    Also, if your regular trips are short enough, your alternator may not have time to keep the battery topped off. Little by little the battery could drain each trip.

    yes the truck was running when i did the last test, how would i go about checking for a parasitic loss this truck looks brand new ,but it was bought online and it came from up north there is some surface rust on some of the bolts and screws in the engine bay

    i have had the truck since may 2017 and only drove 2000 mile off a on but i have been told these are bullit proof, toyota's is all i have ever owned

    Might be worth checking the battery cable going to the alternator for corrosion or loose connection, also check battery ground(s). Did it stay at 13.6 ish for a while with radio, a/c, and everything running or continue to drop?

    Some
    Start checking, cleaning, and sealing all grounds to the frame, engine, and body. Then check all power cables and clean and seal as well. Also check wires going to the starter as well

    Start simple. Charge the battery until it's fully topped off. Check it each day until you decide if there's a problem or not. Keep the battery topped off either way.
