I'm sure I'll do the same.

$~40k investment and my first brand new vehicle, so I'll be babying the thing! But, not as much as Rebecca. I'll still be driven in the snow and rain.

NH road trip was a success on the tractor front. Newer than the old Kubota by 20 years, with higher lift capacities for the loader and the 3 point hitch, with the grader blade included for a mere $1500 out of pocket more than I sold the Kubota for.

Truck hauled her fine, too, but that goddamn U-haul surge brake was fighting me the whole way so I got terrible gas mileage. 10.9 on the way down (EMPTY!). Putting a load in the back settled it down some, and I put it in Manual mode (told it when to shift with the selector) and managed to improve the average to 12.5 for the round trip, but you could still feel the surge brake tugging on the truck and fighting you. I wish to god U-haul would get with the modern age and either toss the brakes completely or switch to actual truck-controlled electric ones. I mean, I get 16-17 towing the boat and it weighs just as much and is a frigging sail behind the truck.

Hey, I said her butt looked nice. Not sure how that's mean :p

The console or the vintage 70's CB?

The complete console for my manual transmission truck was about 80. CB was 35

Empty, I wonder if it was the truck fighting you, not the trailer’s brakes. The truck has an integrated sway control that tries to keep the trailer in check by using the truck’s rear brakes. There are several reports of the truck’s sway control being too aggressive and it’s basically like driving with the rear brakes on. I’d have to check how people have worked around it, fortunately i’ve never had that issue. Maybe taking the truck out of tow/haul mode?

Man I forgot how fun karting is. I went to K1 Speed with a buddy. We are always within a 10th or so of each other and typically drive the same line so it's always a good race. This time there was so much slow traffic which made it entertaining too. Trying to pass people on the outside of a corner relying solely on grip gets the adrenaline going. One guy was just being a tool trying to block me and brake checked me a few times. I laughed when they slowed his kart down so I could just whiz by.

I wish it wasn't quite so pricey, I'd go more often.

I'd check the trailer connection stuff, he might have the brake controller turned way up and doing more than it should But it sounds like the trailer didn't have electric brakes? Did it have a 7 pin connection? Cause if it did, it had electronic brakes. I don't really see how brakes would know to go off otherwise??
