Awesome, I've a ally been meaning to do a little review of the stt maxx's. They definitely either run a little bigger or are just bulkier than the falken wild peaks because I've got some new rubbing on the cab mount, upper control arms and fender that I didn't have before.

I'll go over a couple things about the cooper discoverer stt maxx for anyone curious. I've had personal first hand experience driving a few other tires over the last year (general AT2, nitto ridge grapplers, BFG KO2, and falken wildpeak at2's) and the STT MAXX's are all around the best tire of all of them. I've got just short of 1000 miles on them now I'm the last month and a half. They handled the sand, Mudd and water of the pines great, there wasn't a single time I experienced anything with them that another tire handled better. Of the other tires listed above, the ridge grapplers were the only tire that cleared mud and dug in the sand close to the STT MAXX. a lot of the above tires are snow rated and I'd still take the STT MAXX over all them for snow, similar to the mud clearing feature, they dig down in the snow and clear the snow out until they find good traction under it, this could be good or bad depending on the situation, but even the falkens (snow rated) tended to just spin in the snow and not move any or dig for traction. The ridge grapplers are the only tire that seems as durable as the coopers, but the generals I tested were load range D so this could effect the outcome. This tends to make the coopers a stiff tire, which was one of @V5ioV concerns, I haven't had a chance to get them in Rausch creek rocks but they held the north jersey rocks good enough on a snowy day trip. I've also wheeled with other people who have them and they seemed to hold their ground good enough. Noise is kinda a moot point with them because no single tire above was worse or better than another, they're all a very tolerable light hum at highway speed. I haven't had the coopers anywhere near long enough to speak for the mileage life, @Chux can testify to that with the coopers, but all the above tires around a tire I'd fully expect to get 50k of life out of.

EDIT: to touch base on the 285/75R17 size, they're the perfect size IMO. they clear everything really easy, you don't have to pull fender flares, don't require a huge cab mount chop, and if you've got a 9" wide wheel with -12 offset, you would probably clear the UCA. My methods are 0 offset and I only get a slight rub when reversing with the wheel cut all the way.

    Great right up.

My fist set of 255s got about 70k out of them, still have life just ended up getting freshies.. and they wore completely even with oil change tire rotation..
