Hey dan did you ever find a gpx editor you liked? Im making routes on google and for some reason it is leaving in parts that i don't have in google after i changed it..so need some eraser action.

I’m really pushing the boundaries of acceptable work hours lol. Some days I show up at 7am, other days I don’t get there till like 10 lol, and still take an hour or two off to ski. Some days I put in like 10 or 11 hours a couple days a week so I have 3 other days I can be really flexible if I want to ski a ton and work like 4 or 5 hours (like today). It feels like I have the flexibility of a salaried job while being hourly

 

yeah that's pretty much how i am. No real supervisor haha

 

I ended up just using GE and an XML editor to do some hand editing. Once I got the hang of it, it seemed pretty straight forward, though time consuming. PM me the kml and tell me what isn't getting removed; happy to help.

 

Ah gotcha. I just ended up redrawing it in maps. Sounds like a pain

so BCN friends. I swear i saw somewhere on here that someone had a USFS Road/trails overlay for BCN. Can not find it. Anyone have it here?

I see three options under Map Sources > USA: Topo Maps > (scroll down to the bottom) >

• USFS - Forest Service (newer)
• USFS - Forest Service Visitor Maps
• US Forest Service

 

No i swear i read somewhere on here that there was an overlay for a map that just had the USFS roads highlighted.

 

Huh never seen that before, only thing I've seen that does this is the nav in my grandpa's BMW haha

So i just imported like...idk. 100+ .kmx files into GE. But when looking on GE there no labels on the actual track itself..makes it hard to figure out which one im looking at. Do you know how to change that or fix it? So far..im at a loss..

Got invited to raft the Grand Canyon in aug and I have a week long trip to the DR for a wedding in April.

Those alone should just destroy my vacation time.

 

Send me the file or at least post a screenshot; I'm not sure I follow... Sounds to me like the tracks might be part of another polygon, so they'd need to be split out - relatively easy, but you have to hand edit.

 

Sounds pretty badass either way man, rafting the grand canyon would be awesome!

 

The Grand Canyon will be awesome. I have a co worker that did it two years ago. I think she said she was on the river for over a month (could be wrong) had to pack 5,000 beers for it. The pictures from it are amazing and let's be real, floating the river beats sitting in a truck.

 

Rafting the Grand is a once in a lifetime (almost) opportunity. The number of permits is severely restricted. You are a lucky man.

 

For sure. I know how rare pulling a permit is and im stoked my buddy invited me along. 5k beers seems like an exaggeration is, considering how much room that takes up haha. And it would be 2-3 week trip. Still working out how i get my job to work around that one. im kind of concerned actually. Should be a wild spring and summer!
