I have an ABS kill switch and waiting to do this mod but after reading through your post you discuss this usage or application with a truck with a locker. As I have a TRD Sport I have no locker so are there any differences in the application or installation?

@Kemosabe did it to his truck haha I am in the same spot as you, something like when u go into 4LO u have open diffs, but yellow wire mod tricks ur 4LO into thinking its in 4HI so u get the benefit or 4HI but in 4LO? hahaha I would have to read up on it again and probably a few more times to understand fully

    Just DO IT! Think later...
I was planning on doing that mod to my truck ^^^, but things changed, will be looking into disabling ABS on 3rd gen anyways. That thing chimes in at the worst possible times on trails for me...

the funny thing is when we were on our way down, I was bringing springs and shocks down to one of the guys, told the US border guy that I had them and blah blah and he was just like, okay man no problem hahaha harder to get back into my own country lol I think part of it was that we drove down to Binghampton NY so they thought it was weird we would travel so far just to get truck parts off people we haven't even met before

T3 Neo-wedge bulbs from autoillumination .com. Looks to me like a home based business in AZ? Ordered on a Friday, they had them in the mail on Monday. Pleased. These are the bulbs for our OEM switches to the left of the steering wheel.

Colored incandescents were like $1.50 (black bases). Silicone bulb covers were $.49. The "Japan OEM" LEDs were $3.99 I think (white bases). The green on far right is the OE Toyota bulb (it's clear with a green silicone cap).

I wanted to try a variety to see what bulbs/colors I liked best. The LEDs work best and are the "cleanest" light. Nice even, dark color in the switches. BUT... they might require modification. I had to file down the diameter of the fiberglass(?) disk that the led is mounted to. The diameter is slightly larger than the base and they didn't want to fit. But with just 30 seconds of filing, I was able to make them fit.

The lower circle on the side of the switch is where you install the bulb. 1/4 turn with a small screw driver.
    D83B572D-4D6C-44EA-8DD6-9A81757419FF.jpg

Red fog light switch is led. The two blue switches are the OEM bulb with blue silicone covers. I didn't like the light output out of the colored incandescents. It was ok, just not as nice as the LEDs.

I broke one blue LED while filing. Forgot to turn the lights off when I installed the second blue led and it blew out. So I pulled the green covers off my old OEM bulbs and put on the blue silicone covers.

    CDF2799C-E30B-43C6-B7C9-87468EFC446A.jpg

In closing... the safest/cheapest bet is silicone covers on the stock bulbs. The LEDs are a little nicer light but do require slight modification. My last choice would be the colored incandescents, although I bet some colors look better than others. Blue wasn't great. It was nearly indistinguishable from the stock green. But the Red was fine (but not as deep/even red as the led).

All said and done, a cheap and easy mod. Pick up a selection of bulbs and see what you like, as there appeared to be a flat $5 shipping charge. You want to get all you need in one order. Cheaper to get an extra coupla bulbs/covers than to have to place another order.

EDIT: make sure your lights are turned off when removing/installing bulbs. Or you might get a spark and blow the bulb like I did.
