    How much of a MPG hit? where your KO2's C rated? I have the C rated and have a stage 3 icon lift coming this week. considering stepping up to the 255/80/17 cooper ST Maxx.

    My k02s were C rated. I lost 3-4 mpg when I switched to the st maxx's. I drive pretty aggressively. I think it is worth it for the looks and the performance.

    Not to be a dick but what exactly did you gain to make a 3-4 mpg hit worth it in performance?

    My daily commute is 40 miles round trip so a hit like that would be substantial.

    Do you need your truck to climb trees with these tires to take that kind of loss in performance for a daily driver?

    Well I guess part of it was I personally did not like the k02s. I could never get them to balance. Then one had a separated belt after 8k miles.

    As far as the maxxs, they ride great for how aggressive they are. I like the minimal additional ground clearance too.

    It was 98% looks and 2% performance.

    Any reason you didn't go 255/75/17 for the C rated ST Maxx at 55 lbs or the C rated ST Pros at 51 lbs in that size?

    You're thinking more into this than I did lol. I have st pros on my first gen (33x12.5 C rated). Liked cooper's. I like 33s. Didn't want to have to cut anything. That is about all the thought I put into it.

    ST Pros I mentioned are 32inches so no cutting required, even for the 1st gen.

    As for fitting tires to my 3rd gen, I prefer to do the thinking first before I need to open my wallet and dump money to see if it fits.

    YMMV....

    Can you add factual data also?

    I don't mind a thin tire but not all tallest thin tires are the best for every application.

    Many of us drive our truck's and rack up plenty of miles, got a meme for that?

    If you view this thread maybe we should see some cons to that tire size too.

    Cons? Every tire (or every thing for that matter) has it's pros and cons, and a person must evaluate how it best works for their needs. My truck is my second vehicle for camping and wheeling, and MPG is the least of my concern. I'm all about functionality. These tires really don't have any cons for their category. When you compare them to other aggressive 33s, these will win hands down. Obviously there are better options for someone who is mostly commuting but for someone who wants the best of both on road manners and off road functionality, these tires are the best.

    If you don't like this size tire, then don't run them. If someone else does want to run them, then they can run them and shouldn't need to justify shit. You're all about trying to get that last word in, aren't you?

    Yeah I am, and making the best choice for what you need. In this case its not the best choice for blue_goose.
