Just came back from the dealership to inquire about when the parts will arrive for the rear spring tsb for my 2010 access cap. They told me it could be awhile because of a back order. They told me toyota was only doing this as a courtesy and they didn't really have to do it. I guess tsb = courtesy. I said I gave you the copy of the tsb and that is not what it says. They said if I wanted to tow I should have bought a trd. Not going to piss them off just want it done.

Just got this done. The first time I asked my truck wasn't included then at my 10000 mile service I mentioned it bottoming out going across some railroad tracks and they ordered the parts. One week later the springs were installed. No hassles whatsoever. If the ride is stiffer I can't tell.I have to measuere for lift. I did take measurements before the springs were installed. Next on the list is eibachs then tires.

Was carrying about 700 pounds of mulch the other week and rode the bump stops all the way home. Called the dealer and they ordered the parts without even looking at the truck. Got the work done last week and couldn't be happier. Classic Toyota in Tyler, TX.

Called the dealer that I bought my truck from asking if they would do the leaf spring change. I got transferred all over the place, put on hold for 30 minutes while they looked up the TSB I referenced and then told me they couldn't find the corresponding replacement part numbers...

Not to mention, I have to take my truck in so they can test it and try to recreate the issue. Once they are able to recreate the issue then they will order the parts...so basically I get to waste 2 days at the dealership because they don't want to just swap the parts out.

Also was given the "your truck will be almost undrive-able" speech about 5 times...

Sorry that was a bit more of a venting session than I wanted...How did others who had issues with dealers get the work done? Go to another dealership?

My experience was similar to yours. I had to jump through all the hoops to get the candy at the end. I got it done at the first dealer I went to. I took pictures of where I was bottoming out in anticipation of a fight but it wasn't necessary. I did have to leave the truck with them for two days while they inspected/ordered parts though. Just play the game and don't let up, and that your problem is real and you will not go away until they fix it.

It would be awesome if the dealerships actually were informed and willing to help. Not mildly ignorant and tight fisted with parts/money they will get refunded for....I don't get it. Oh well, I might call another dealership in the area and see if I get a better reception, if not I guess I will be playing the stupid dealer games until they change it out.

Just got mine done. Called toyota several months back and got a ref. number. Dealer said ok then said they needed to look at the truck to see if the bump stops hit. Since it had been a while since i towed I waited. Then two weeks ago I had the chance to take it in right after towing a trailer with 1.5 tons of rock on it. Took pictures to show how much it squated in the rear. The ordered the parts and last weekend they were installed. They also replaced my Amp for the sub it was making a strange sound, thats another TSB.

Just begining, doing some research having some fun!!
Thanks for all the informative posts. You guys are great about sharing info!!!My 2010 SR 5 TRD Off Road, goes in for it's 5 K oil change & service soon from the dealership I bought it from. When I schedule it I'm going to toy with them a little & see how forthcoming & customer friendly they are about doing the TSB before I let them know I'm well informed. I've never bought from this dealership before, so I want to see how well they treat a first time buyer. Any suggestions?

Update on my TSB situation!! Had the Service manager at the dealership personally call me tonight. I opened a ticket with the Toyota customer exp reps last night, he called today and got approval to change my rear leaf's out no questions asked. So now he's ordering the parts and as soon as they come in I get it changed out!

Chatting with him, he said that not only are the rear leaf's going to be changed out for the 4pack vice the 3pack, but supposedly the shocks and bump stops will be changed out as well. I asked him if he was sure that the shocks would be changed since I already have the Bilsteins from the TRD package...and apparently the are still getting changed. Kind of cool.

So Toyota of Bowie is now on the list of cool dealerships. I honestly didn't expect them to make a 180 like this and be so helpful.

Brandon, If the dealership does change out the shocks, you will obviously benefit from having brand new shocks but the stealership will not get reimbursed from the factory because it was their error.

I don't know if it is kind of cool since you'll probably end up with the Tokicos.

I put 800lbs of sand in my truck this past weekend to test the rear springs. I went over a speed bump to get some bounce and the rubber stops barely touched the upper frame. I only have three springs. 2010 DC LB.

I was expecting a rough ride but didn't get it.
Guess I don't need the TSB.

I was told the springs are on back order. It has been 3 weeks and I haven't heard from the dealership. Has anyone else been told the springs are on back order?

This is exactly what my service department told me and they have been great. I just purchased a 2010 Tacoma DC LB and had the suspension TSB performed. The service manager originally ordered new shocks but did not install them because the 2010 already had the upgraded shocks ( in black not the blue ), but he did install a 4th leaf and checked the alignment, the truck rides great.

    i have a question.
i have a 2010 trd sport db long bed, it had the 3 pack now. i have not had a problem that i know of other then it did seem a little soft in the back (i have not put any real weight on it). i just got a lift installed and they added a 4Th leaf to the back to make it match the front.
so my question is is this truck covered under the TSB and would it really do anything since i have already added a leaf??

thanks for the help guys, i am going in tomorrow for another problem and i will probably talk to them about it then also and let you know what they say.
