Had to order a new element for the oven. Was cooking something the other night and got a fireworks show in the oven when the element decided to spontaneously destroy itself. Did make that cool 220v electrical sound when it burned itself in two.

Amazon to the rescue once again. Should be here Tuesday as long as the post office doesn't decide to fuck me again.

 

I'm a little sore from wrenching on that Yaris the last 2 weekends. Rolling around on cold concrete is a young man's game.

That said. Just about got everything done I wanted to do. Got one more drain and fill on the tranny. I also have some new rear brake shoes. But that's not critical. I can do those when I have more time. Still some life left on the current shoes.

 

Our bottom element fizzled out on us a couple of years ago. Local store had it in stock for cheap. Simple remove and replace procedure

 

Stove went south last year during a self clean cycle. House smelled like a welding shop for over a month. Damn lucky I was home.

 

Got both yoters cleaned up all nice today. Should be some nice riding weather next week!

I took this one out to get the part number on it. Of course nothing matched up. Went looking for the model of the stove and finally found it under the controls in the front. Went to the Maytag sight got the part number and ordered it off Amazon with prime.


Broke out the ProFry tonight and made homemade chicken tenders and mashed potatoes.

 

All good in the PNW hood! Gotta get that wifey-time in!

Read a while back the self clean is the worst thing you can do to them. Heats them up so much that the electronics in it can't handle the heat and die prematurely. I don't use it. Place foil in the bottom to catch spills and the rest gets oven cleaner if needed.
