I was going to wait and let jeremy answer this but he must have stepped away. Most original slider designs were/ are merely square or round tubing attached to the frame to protect the rocker panel region of the body and meant to be able to hold the weight of the truck. The new idea has been to add filler plates which are typically perforated to allow water and mud tho drain through yet also allowing some traction making the sliders easier to use as a step. Some folks have had the misfortune when using a slider without them to slip and catch their ankels in the sliders causing injury. These are normal opensliders

    A thing or two...
They're plates that fill in the gap between the main bar of the slider and the hoop. They make the slider more step like, so if you use them to get in/out, you don't have to worry about getting your foot caught in the gap.

    No fill plates

I've got sliders from 4x on mine. I haven't put them through the ringer, but I'm fairly certain they'll hold up if I ever have to.

I did, but after they were installed. Not the best decision I've ever made. Not the worst either (you would have to meet my ex-wife). I ended up masking off the side of the truck, then hitting each slider with a full can of primer, a full can of bedliner, and a can and a half of gloss black (Rustoleum Industrial).

Working on the test rack. Ran out of time to even mount half the lights though.

LOL! These are be a bit pricey to just give away, unlike my other lighting give aways. After testing they will all be liquidated at discounted rates.

Looking for an extra 1” of lift in the back and I already have an AAL. I don’t want to buy new leaf springs yet, but wonder if these shackles will cause the current springs to flatten quicker. Anyone using the 4XInnovations
05-15 Tacoma HD Replacement 6” Shackles?

I may end up making my own legs and plates for the frame. Did the frame plates go completely from the top of the frame to the bottom? This just depends on how they'll fit with the stock legs and a 1" body lift. I got new body mount bushings and have some UHMWPE sticks in route to make my own BL.

Well, today I replaced my windshield washer fluid pump. Took all of about 15 minutes and cost about $13. Sure beats the stealership quote. I was just being lazy, but decided to do it myself.

This was some of the build up on bottom. There was about 5-6 times more, that I dumped out. Crazy.

Can you list the lights you are testing? Are they roughly the same style of lights as far as fog, driving etc. also are the advertised light outputs roughly the same? I can't wait to see your write up on this. I enjoy your other lighting write ups!

The plates for mine were welded flush with the bottom of the frame, but there is a bit of wiggle room if you wanted to mount them higher because of the body lift.

I didn't get any pictures that low during the install. I'd grab some pics, but my truck is in Florida and I'm in North Carolina.
