dude in order for this to happen, something else needs to take its place. 99.9% of overlanders were driving a civic with a wing in the 90s and a Subaru wrx in the 2000’s. The die hard tuner crowd were saying the same thing, wondering what and when. And then. Overlanding. So I don’t know. Suggest something. Maybe these guys will bite.

For starters, you are 100% right. Personally, I think it will be electric cars. Once they are more affordable, and more easily modified, they crowd will migrate there.

In some future forum (I’m sure it’s already happening) it will be something like “bro.....need advice on delta-peaking my batteries........ hey, anyone running palladium wire?.......transistor upgrade question!.........what are the best floor liners?

Competitive rock crawling died and turned into Rock Racing. Then rock racing died and turned into ultra 4 racing.

Maybe we can get the over Landers to compete somehow in who has the most amount of ridiculous gear. Then when they all overload their trucks they won't be able to go off pavement any more and they will move on.

From the looks of most of the videos we are halfway there.

 

There will be a day when the trucks don't move and everyone's just racing their DJI phantoms.

I don't enjoy that people come up to me and ask me if I overland, as I'm setting up in a state park. Not quite broseph. Just a camper who also does stuff in the woods.
