Yeah mine were really bad. I had tried some of my dad's rubbing compound we use when refinishing headlights but that stuff didn't touch them and I didn't want to try a harder/more aggressive compound and scratch my windows.

In the what have you done thread? Yeah I did, thanks that was helpful. My thought was similar to yours but I was also thinking of going a little wider with them and drill some 3/4" dia. or so holes for plug welds. I may be over enginerding it at that point but I like my stuff to be strong and take a licking.

Very true man...just how Mike (90yota) now is going to throw on 37s and a 1 inch body lift after running the rubicon. I never thought I would throw on 35s, but I want more access to other spots so that's that.

@Casper66 Here is a pic of the 6112s I got from toytec with their top mounts they pre assembled them for me at the notch I asked them to which was the top notch to get max lift. You can get the top mounts when you order them and have them preassemble at any notch you want. They list all the heights on their site as well for each notch.

Are there different weight springs to accommodate for extra frontal weight I.e. bumpers, winches, etc

Yes you can get different front springs to accomodate heavier weights but they are 640lb springs to begin with. Headstrong offers different springs. The only reason I didn't get them originally from headstrong was to get that nicer mount than stock and be able to get a full 3" of lift with the mount instead of using a stock style mount a spacer. When I get a bumper and winch I will be going up to 700# springs and getting them from headstrong, their prices are on par if not better than others and the free shipping is really awesome!

I kind of liked those white wheels. Probably just because they were so different.

Aluminum bumper so even with the addition if a winch I would think the 640# springs would be good. The discussion we had on these in Crom's thread was interesting. I had been thinking about stepping up to Kings but after that discussion for my application these may just fit the ticket. These work great for now so no hurry. I would really like to look at getting a winch and some additional recovery gear before I move to revising the suspension.

Personally I think Kings, Icon, and Fox are a little overkill for most unless they are hardcore wheelers

Thanks! It just seemed like every white vehicle around here had black wheels. I don't by any means dislike black wheels, but as you said, these are different.

I agree. I'm still learning about all this. Alot of the guys around here building their trucks are going with Kings or Icons and there's only 3-4 I know will use what they have, I mean really use it. These 3-4 people can justify the exspense and will truly bennifit from the quality of these Struts and the rest of their suspension builds. For what I do and my goals of what I want to do unless the objective changes the 6112's will most likely be all I'll need. Would I like to have the others? Sure but right now, for me, it would be more for looks than an actual purpose.

Exactly I may upgrade later but I'm more interested in getting more articulation and if they don't offer any more then I don't see the point.

We have a bit in common. If I remember correctly did you not say in your build you are involved with scouting?

Is that the one that straddles the VA/NC border near I95? I waterskied and fished Stripers there every Summer from 13yo ‘til I joined the Air Force at 18. Good memories of that lake. :)

Gaston is by I95, Kerr is I85 but gets close to 95 as well, they both straddle the border and we argue over rights all the time. They both are fed off the same river and if you look at a map there really isn't that much distance from the dam of Kerr to the mouth of Gaston. Kerr has some eh ok sriper fishing, but I much prefer Gaston. I believe Gaston is a deeper lake also and has the ability to hold larger fish.
