I saw something interesting about the bedliners on new vehicles. They basically said don't buy a drop in or spray in bed liner if you can help it from the dealer. You pay about the same as an aftermarket but, with aftermarket, they'll warranty for life whereas factory will only warranty for 3yr/36k miles or whatever extended warranty you buy. Makes sense although mine were all bought used and already on the truck.
Is one ever really caught up on the BS?

Does yours have an option for "Towing" under the Distance to Empty? I know that with the F150 I can select "normal" or "towing" under the DTE calculator and it alters the DTE math to leave a reserve.

something similar happened to my cousin with his GMC. Light came on and about 2 mins later truck just turned off..
My guess is if you are on an incline or going around a curve some sensor thinks the tank is empty so it shuts everything down to try and protect the fuel system.

Yeah, fancy is right. I don't think I have an option to change the DTE, but I will never let it get that close again.

I am used to seeing the light all the time on the Tacoma. I could easily go 50 miles after the light came on.

No, it's the standard 23 gallon tank.

I suppose it's fancy. Kind of useless for me, though, because I always find someplace to tank up before I hit 1/4 tank. I'm one of those crazies who starts looking for a gas station as soon as the needle drops below 1/2

I did Ann Arbor MI to about 12 miles from Buffalo once in my 4cyl Tacoma. Wasn't paying attention and didn't know the low fuel warning was just a light and no bell or tone... Looked down cause I had a brain fart and realized I haven't got gas in a while, saw the needle buried in the red and the light on. Took like 22+ gallons of fuel in a 20 gallon tank haha

I think the Tacoma you get like 60 or so miles once the light comes on, that's in stock form I would imagine.

I've been attempting to find an F150 with a max tow package, 36 gallon tank, locking rear diff and like 3.73 gears... damn near impossible and I don't want to custom order the truck, so I've kind of given up on that hunt.

If you find one that meets your other requirements the dealer should be able to install the larger tank for you without any real difficulty. You'll have to pay to have it done, obviously, but it'd be less trouble/expense than trying to special order one.

Yeah I wonder what they would charge to do that.. I really want the larger tank since I travel so much between NY and MI kind of want to only fill up once or do the trip on a tank of fuel. With the Tacoma I generally burn about 32-34 gallons of gas for one leg so be nice to minimize how many times I need to stop

You really shouldn't let the fuel go that low. The fuel pump uses the gas to cool the pump. When I worked for VDO, we made fuel pump control modules and they do get quite hot and life would be best if allowed to remain cool. 1/4 tank is fill up time for me.

I do the same, even with the large tank.
Pretty sure with the max tow, it'll come with the 36 gallon tank automatically. Not sure, but I think the max tow will force you to get 3:73 gears and the 3.5L ecoboost as well. That's been my challenge as well but, in addition, I want the heavy payload package.

Well with the large tank you HAVE to fill it up before it's on 'E' or it'll bankrupt you

 :drool:Man and I thought I had a decent setup...65"tv, Xbox One X Scorpio, Bose Soundtouch 300 +Subwoofer...I didn't realize they actually had 4k projectors; might have went that direction.

At least my sound can compete, it's only a single bar but, they way it throws sound in the room is unreal. Plus the fact that the normal volume setting is below 25% of the range.....so much loudness available.

I looked into the Netflix upgrade and it seems like they don't have much content available even if you pay for the upgrade.

I have a TV; 42 inches of it. LED and everything; it seems huge and great, awesome for football and movies. Wouldn't want to go too much larger, but I also grew up with a 19" screen

I honestly don't understand the trend towards 62" TV's in the living room. I saw one the other day that was something like 90" or so. What would you even do with a TV that size?

When gas was on a spike, last year or the year before, the pump would shut off at $100, then I'd have to restart it and keep going. Those were a couple painful visits to the gas station!
