I bought a like new 05+ Tacoma hood w/scoop off Ebay. The UPS store packaged/insured it in California. When it arrived in RI it was destroyed beyond repair, the edges buckled/dented, paint chipped everywhere............

Wow... Fucking ruined. That really sucks. If it was insured you should have a problem, right?

How much did UPS store charge you to ship it? I bet that was expensive.

That Sucks man! But I will let everyone know that you NEVER ship heavy/big or delicate items through UPS. My brother worked there, at there portland Airport hanger, and told me they just throw packages around all the time and dont care. Especially If there heavy!

You would think not, but UPS being the dicks that they are will probably deny the claim saying the packaging wasn't sufficient...

Yeah , sucks, i got that Hood for a steal too only $250 OEM and already painted the right color. I learned my lesson. Shipping was $100 and it was insured for $350 Total.....still not enough for a new OEM hood.

Sucks, glad the insurance has you covered, but recognize that this is the Lord telling you that non-functional hood scoops are silly.

Take that $350 and use it on a good mod ;)

Was it just gift packaged with bubble wrap and sent on it's merry way?

If I was shipping something like that it would be sealed inside a crate.

When I used to work for UPS, I packaged everything like it was breakable, even if it wasnt.. Because you never know.. But if this was PACKAGED by the store, then yes, they are responsible for the damages to the item and you get your shipping money back..
