Thanks Man! I am doing this as soon as time permits. I am a huge fan of the truck without. Oddly enough, I am replacing the stock bedside decals with black eventually. LOL

What did I do to my Tacoma today.....nothing but I did spend about 4 hours getting caught up on this thread.
Jeeze, let two days go by on the weekend and it's amazing how much money is spent by the community. I'm in the wrong business. o_O

I didn't like the look of the vinyl on the doors at all. It showed finger prints real bad and wasn't even from the front to rear door on the drive side and drove me nuts. The profile looks like the 2nd gen after removing which I was partial to as well.

If you think you want them gone, don't wait. I did mine today. My truck is 6 months old. Took considerable elbow grease and adhesive remover to get it off.

Yea, I am with ya on all accounts and to be honest, if someone would have never said anything about 2nd Gen 3rd Gen comparisons I would not have known. And is that such a bad thing anyway. Pay Homage to our Forefathers!?

The easy part is removing the decals. The hard (elbow grease) part is removing the adhesive. I used a heat gun on low/medium setting to soften the adhesive and then took a microfiber cloth with a little goo gone to remove it and rinsed the area with a hose to get the leftover solvent off the paint.

I did do mine on day 5 of ownership so the might be why I had very little residue to deal with. You can see two small spots near the bottom.

Super easy to install. Some people have the hardest time removing the map lights, there is a bunch of techniques. Always remember to make sure you have the bulbs installed in the correct way and check to make sure they work before you reinstall the lights. The ultimate dome light replaces the clear lens from the factory and reuses that location to mount. They are so bright. I have his smoked map lights before these and I will attach a pic to show the difference. I think I'm gonna need to wear my sunglasses at night.
