Off-Road Suspension Question

Ok guys, I have a 2011 TRD Off-Road that I bought used about a year ago. I'm finally getting around to doing some mods for myself. My previous truck was a 2007 TRD sport so I'm not familiar with the OR suspension. I know it has 2in blocks on the back but not sure about the front.

My question is... in the picture below is that an after market spacer or is that part of the OR package?


And yes I know.. She needs a bath. Hunting season is finally over so she will be getting cleaned up soon.

Yup that's a Hockey Puck Spacer Lift

 

There is no stock block in the rear. Anything on the axle or under the leaf springs is aftermarket.

And yes, aftermarket coil spacer on your front coilovers.

Yea I knew the block on the back was aftermarket for sure.

Next question would be. I plan on ordering 5100's for the front with 886 OME coils. Can I do that with this spacer or should I remove it first.

1.5 AAL in the back with 5125 shocks. Remove the block or not?


My old truck had 3in spacer in the front and 2in block in the back and I was running 295/70/17 with minimal rubbing. I want to get back to that size.

How much lift will I be looking at with 886's and what would be the most reasonable height to set the 5100's

I also have a rather heavy bumper.

 

Also, Can I do the 886's and 5100's without removing the spacer? Just wondering...

No, lol. That whole assembly (old schock & coil & spacer) will come out and hopefully be thrown in the trash.

 

Yea it certainly needs to be thrown out. What could I do to possible get about another inch or so?

Also, will the 2in block in the rear need to come out for the AAL or not?

 

Doesnt necessarily have to, but probably yes. That way you wont be SUPER high in the rear.

Nope. I really want you to do a little homework digging around in the suspension forum.

 

Negative. You do not want to put a spacer (except to correct taco lean) ontop of the 5100s with lift coils. A body lift will not have negative effects on suspension travel like the spacer would.

 

I have been digging around for weeks and it appears everyone does it different. Like I stated before, My previous was an 07 Sport (ill throw a few pics of it in below) and I threw the Supreme Suspensions 3in Spacers and 2in blocks (lack of funds and knowledge to know any better) on and cleared the 295/70/17's with minimal rubbing. Most threads I have read, say that 285 is the most you can run without cutting your truck all apart. I barely had to do any trimming. I want to get back to that size but do it the right way. I am going to continue researching but at least now I have a thread I can ask questions on.

Wheel offset/backspace/width all play a HUGE role in how much scrub radius you will encounter.
