It's not a pain in the ass, I just don't use mine as much. I've slept in it 10 nights in the past year. I've either slept in my hammock or in the truck probably twice as many. I mainly got it because my girlfriend was all about camping until she went to Georgia with us. Since it will be just me, I don't need it.

 

Its not a pain in the ass pretty easy to put up and take down. Its just not something I wanna do and than go wheelin for a couple of hours just to do it all over again.

 

more of an inconvenience. i.e. having to pack it up every time you need to go somewhere. I really don't mind it for out of state trips but at citrus, my hammock is so comfortable to sleep in I just used that instead of taking the 5 minutes each night and morning to unpack it and pack it back up

 

where did you sleep in your hammock at?

 

I understand that. For weekends with a stationary campsite, I'm leaning toward the Kodiak LINK. For trips where I might camp in different spots every night, a RTT makes a lot of sense.

 

Not at Citrus. I've used it on several solo events over to Highlands State Park.

I like using my hammock as well (I used it at Citrus when I went with Florida Overland). I intended to use it when I went to Tiger Bay, but the trees at the campsite were either too close together or too far apart.

I've got a Hennessy (old style that you climb in from underneath). It has a built in mesh top and a rainfly. The newer versions zip along the side, which is nice if you just want to chill.

Read the reviews and compare. Seem's a bit overpriced. I paid like $65 for all of that with my BearButt double Hammock. Mine got 5 stars.
