Thanks! I'm almost 100% certain the RI covers fit the other brands.

 

My old lab ate so fast she got bloat I have a lab mix now and thankfully I have been able to slow her eating speed down.

 

I know they fit a couple other brands like the Cali raised, I believe @tacopromatt used the rigid covers on his Cali raised ditch lights

 

Yes the Side-Shooter covers fit, but just barely.

 

@Redmann @HCJ I may have found the solution to our droop needs. It replaces the rear leaf hanger like a shackle flip to gain more droop, but it's not a flip, and therefore you don't have to worry about inverting the shackle or prematurely stressing your leafs. The only potential downside is that they hang lower than stock and may get caught on stuff. Still have reading to do and questions to ask.

That's where I stole that pic from as well, since Archive was using it to display droop. This seems like a much better option vs the shackle flip. This, and pair it with your new goodies and you'll have droop for days. Just extend your brake lines like a mofo. I was reading people were going +8"-9"

 

Ohhh yeah the first pic you grabbed is that guys truck. It's a sweet build, did you go through it? He's selling an archive regular shackle flip. I may buy it...

Alright @EatSleepTacos I see what you are saying about the hammer not being a flip. Whats the point of it then? If you watch the @ARCHIVE video on his site, it looks like the shackle rotates down a bit under horizontal. What do the OEM ones do? Same thing, no?

@ARCHIVE we need some input here. There's a few of us on the shackle flip wagon right now.

 

So here's the stock shackle set up on our trucks. You can see that the shackle is mounted below the leafs itself.







Here's what a shackle flip looks like. Per the name, you're flipping the shackle and mounting it above the leafs. With these you need to worry about drooping too much and the shackle facing the wrong way. You can see in the second pic how the shackle is facing forward and there's potential for it to go back the wrong way which can damage leafs.










Now look again at the hammer hanger. It's similar to the stock design, but moved backwards and a little lower allowing a lot of droop.

See my response. It's moved backwards and a little lower allowing more droop. You can also swap in longer shackles to fine tune the set up. From what I read, with my dakars, hammer hangers and stock shackles, I can get 12"-14" of travel back there.

 

Just read thru your response. Thanks for throwing that together. The hammer looks like a better designed shackle and shackle hanger. Not necessarily a flip. I wonder how it helps with droop though if it essentially does the same thing as the oem jawns. Is it because it'll articulate more "forward and down"?

 

I'm not sure on the exact specifics and how the geometry all works together, but I do know that it's not in the stock hanger location. It's moved backwards, but I'm not sure on the exact amount. It also looks like it allows the shackle to droop farther down than the stock one. All these things combined look to lead to a bunch of droop. Here's Archives comments on it.

 

You guys are understanding it pretty well. The Hammer hangers bolt into the factory holes after you drill out the rivets to 1/2".
The shackle pivot point stretches back and lower to help the shackle rotate further down.

All the spring over packs on the market benefit by having pivot moved rearward.

Also, a nice benefit is a noticeable improvement in the ride quality because they don't flex like stock hangers. So you get less chatter over harsh bumps and greater speed capability.
