Hey guys, just put some 33s on. Slightly rubbing the front mud flaps of course and I’m curious if anyone has had success modifying the mudflaps to not rub. Looks like they potentially could be trimmed and still be functional. Wanted to see if anyone has tried before I hack into mine. Any thoughts and or photos would be great! Thanks!

I have taken them off, and do like the look but don’t want my paint and sliders to just get hammered non stop.

Makes sense I have had mine off since new, and have zero paint nicks etc.

That’s good to know and comforts me a bit. Maybe I’ll just sell my mudflaps then.

    Not enough to list
I call bullshit on this. You must drive on nothing by pavement or have side steps. I drive on gravel roads, rocky trails and I can see chips on my lower doors that go through the thick coating down to metal. And that's WITH flaps on. Can't wait to get my sliders.

We removed the piece in the center that stuck out and then drilled a screw (silver one) into the cab mount to keep them from flapping. Eventually I'll get aftermarket ones.

I wouldn't, especially if you're running wider tires, or wheels that make your tires stick out.

I'm running Toyo RT and what I did was Dremel the heck out of the mud flaps and do not rub any longer on the rear of the front wheel wells .The front will run slightly with wheel turned and compressed .Dremel grinding but takes care of that .I wanted to keep the OE mud flaps in as I kinda like the looks as well as the protection it provides

Have any photos or where and how much you dremeled off? I don’t rub in the rear at all to my knowledge. Just the front at like 1/2 turn. Granted, haven’t went off-road yet.

No photos I'll try to get some tomorrow morning . Mine runs ever so slightly up front but Grandgra lot in the rear . Go figure

No Bullshit at all, never Off Road. As it states in my Avatar I am a Mall Krawling Princess, strictly pavement, but I did just put my Mud Flaps back on for the new Mass State Inspections that they now wear cameras for. But seriously 3 coats of paint sealant a year with a fresh coat of wax in the months between.

Wish this could be done cleaner, what are aftermarket options for these trucks?

You’re gonna beat the hell out of your sliders even with the flaps on...mine get beat anyways and I have OEM flaps up front.

@rlx02, how did you get the scree into the cab mount?

I agree. They're also pretty short considering they're for lifted trucks with big tires on them.

Drilled a small pilot hole and used a self tapping screw I believe.

You can't really tell when looking at it unless you're up close. Plus, I'll eventually do the CMC and get some rokbloks or some universal/custom made flaps later on. For now, stock flaps are holding well and I'm not rubbing on my 285s.
