It's not recommended bexause it's not tested as safe so legally it holds no weight. But it works for us and if you are able to get it latched I don't see an issue

How is the Rainier working for you?

I’m trying to decide between Rainier and RXT.

Also, how thick is that seat protector? I have the black leather in my Pro so I don’t want to mess it up. Any good?

I have both the rainier and the rxt. Rxt is in the wife’s venza. Rxt is slightly and I mean slightly thinner. Material on the Rainer is nicer. The pad is thin but has saved the material. Obviously it does not prevent the indents in the foam. I taken it out one a month for a couple days to let the foam have a break.

    Thanks.

I’ll order a Rainier and the other seat protector they sell and see how she goes.

If it goes well I’ll order a second for the baby and switch that between vehicles for a year or whatever till my 4 year old is ready for a booster. Or just order 2 more.

No problem. It comes out easy enough and I have used then for my little girl since she was about 10 months old. If you get the angle adjustment pad for it while it’s rear facing it doesn’t take a lot of room. Less than any other seat I tried.

Yeah I ordered that as well just because it’s an add-on for $7. I’m hoping to have my 4 year old behind the passenger and the 13 month old behind me so I don’t have to get the shit kicked out of my back all the time. I will try both kids in it and see how it is.

We have this stupid fancy infant seat my wife bought that she’s giving to her friend that is due in 6 weeks so I need to get it figured out soon.

And right now we have 2 seats between 2 vehicles so I often switch between vehicles every day or two. Rather have 3-4 seats, I just down want to spend $2000 in it all.

Chicco keyfit 30 mounted backwards. Plenty of room for us. Mounted on the right rear seat with the latch points. DCSB OR.IMG_0797.jpg

Not as safe to put baby on the side in the case of a T-bone collision baby could take full brunt of impact. Rear facing is required by law up until certain size/weight in most states I believe. Many rear facing seats take up far too much space to be practical on either side (behind front seats) unless you’re in a family of African pygmies so middle is best option except that it really isn’t an option because there is no latch anchor in the middle. Why not??? Another design oversight by Toyota on this truck. Time for a tundra or 4 runner.

Deer strike last Sunday on my way to work. About 6k in damage; luckily airbags did not pop.

I'm joining the club, just found out 2 days ago, my sexy taco is gonna be a baby hauler in 9 months. Do you guys leave the seat in all the time or only when your using it. I feel so overwhelmed.

First of all, congrats. Second mine is in all the time. It’s easy enough to switch it if you need to, but much easier to have two. There is a lot to make you feel overwhelmed. Take it one thing at a time and you will be fine. I wasn’t sure I was ready and now I would not change it for the world.

I've got a Chico keyfit 2 behind the driver seat currently. It's as tight as I'm comfortable with and I'm only 5'10. Besides that it's been a good seat + you can use up to 35lb.
I've tried the middle seat with the latch system but it didn't feel as secure. Besides All the new seats weigh a ton and getting it to the middle seat repeatedly might buy yourself a trip to the physical therapist.
I can't put it behind the passenger because our garage is so tight that i actually back the truck in so the doors have enough room to swing...

Ours has a "base" system that clicks in. Most brands have a similar set up

this is heavy so I just leave it in the taco most of the time. I've had a few issues with fasteners not clicking properly but contacting Diono customer service took care of it.
