406Cruisers is primarily based out of Bozeman. Though we have members in other cities as well. :) The founding members are down here in Boze-Angeles.

BTW - If you're an active LEO, thanks for what you do. :) I dabbled in the biz a little while down in Arizona.

That was literally the end of the road beyond Independence. LOL Search Google Maps for "Blue Lake". It's nestled between Haystack and Monument Peaks.

No problem. I`m new to the LE career but the Montana community is very supportive for the most part. I`m keeping my eye on the 406 calendar to see when the next meet will be. I'm interested in stopping by to see if a membership is something I`d be interested in.

So this is at the end of the Main Boulder road? That river has been my favorite place to fish by far since moving here. I tried making it to the lake last summer but the GF got sick and we had to turn around about 2 miles short. Is there a jeep trail that goes past this lake as well?

Welcome to the family then, brother! Need to buy you a beer some time.

I may not get to wear the badge anymore but there's blue in my blood.

The trail that gets to this is after the end of Main Boulder road. There's a dirt parking lot and what looks like a hiking trail. At first glance it doesn't look wide enough for motor vehicles but my DCLB and a Jeep were up there the day I went. Not much room for passing though! Haha. The dirt road that goes up there is really bumpy. If you think Main Boulder Road is bad... lol might wanna give your G/F some meds to keep her stomach down.

Same here, Air Force security forces (MP) I give you civilian LE guys props to deal with the real everyday crime. We don't deal with anything compared to what you guys do.

The boulder rd was pretty bad with worn out leaf springs but that will change as soon as I can stand to do the job. The GF will stay at home if she cant cut the Montana Adventures lol. That place looks great! A guy from work was telling me about the road past Chico was a pretty good ride as well. Even a few water crossings. I still haven't discover all of the mill creek access.

I cant say for sure I`d be in this career back home in Georgia. The people here are pretty good to deal with. Even the troublemakers.

Water crossings sound fun! I've got a LOT of adventuring to do. Been here for 12 years and hardly been anywhere. LOL Much easier to do as an un-married man now. Had no life when I was married - wasn't permitted.

I work with a former cop from Georgia/Alabama. Heard some stories. Shit was way more real down there. He's a very stout man... and told me about fighting a guy on PCP for 8 minutes by himself.

LOL My brother was up at Malmstrom for 5 years? When he was there he said it was the SF guys that were usually getting arrested... (Great Falls PD). DUI's, bar fights in town.

I get the idea the SF guys up there get pretty bored. And it sounded like most of them were like 18-19yo at the time.

Haha I believe it. I`ve only been in the field since October and have already dealt with a few crazy encounters and know there`s more to come.

LOL Yeah, honestly I came up here from a suburb of Tucson. I wasn't in the heart of the city. But when I moved up here it blew me away that Montana and it's small towns had the kind of crap it has. Heck, first two weeks I lived here a Bozeman PD officer shot and killed a man just down the street from the apartments I had just moved into. Traffic stop, driver pulled a gun. Gun went click - no bang. Officer returned fire.

Haha yup that explains half the idiots I work with. They get trained to deploy and actually do REAL things but get stationed here and protect nukes. They get bored and do stupid shit lol. DUI's are common. Luckily this isn't my first base and deployed and saw the world but coming here was a insult. I'm doing the same job now that someone with 0 experience can do. Its a good reason to get out so that way I can dictate my career vs the Air Force decide that for me.

I moved up here to get away from the riff raff of Atlanta and the metro area. Everyday you watch the news its one bad story after another and I wanted to get away from the subconscious negativity. The trade of has been great so far! Now if I could afford a house and build my Tacoma at the same time my life would be complete lol.:oldglory:

Next time you are driving between Big Sky and Bozeman on 191 and wanting a killer breakfast, check out Cafe at the Inn at the Gallatin. Regrettably is closed during the Winter. It is at Geo 45.464876, -111.255626.

I'll have to check that out! After skiing for the day we drove down to the BBQ place by Big Sky. It was an awesome atmosphere. I love the country bar feel.
